Re: Random or Competition?

I think that the best a trader can do is to make a calculated assessment of what the market is going to do next. However, if he is right it is because of the law of 50-50. Even then, he has the...

Re: Random or Competition?

The belief becomes a fact in hindsight. I've spent a lot of time doing this and have come to the belief that the market, for a day trader, at least, is random and only in hindight does the trend...

Re: Stop loss vs Guaranteed Stop loss

I'm being lazy but I'm also old so you have respect that!:D It's, also, around 34º outside and I've just come in from a walk.

Does a trader paying 10 GBP per point pay more than another paying 2...

Re: Lee Shepherd's Trading Diary

In the early sixties they had the "rockers" to contend with. There were more of them, of course. That made a difference.

Re: Stop loss vs Guaranteed Stop loss

I can only speak for myself, of course.

I use SB and they have a very bad name for skimming punters, according to some sources.

In countless years that I have been doing this with Finspreads I...

Re: Lee Shepherd's Trading Diary

You have posted a good example of how things, probably, are. I had not thought of it in that way and thanks for pointing it out to us. The mods do us a great voluntary service and we should be more...

Re: "unfortunately I don't save them all.." unfortunately I cant find any entries or

Thank you. I'll take that as a compliment. This thread went into a direction that I never anticipated. I thought I could get on and share how I made the $2,200 but the members seemed more interested...

Re: Lee Shepherd's Trading Diary

I'm afraid that I see it that way, too. I'm disappointed that Lee has gone so easily.

Re: Lee Shepherd's Trading Diary

Just think! We would not have any politicians if they did not have thick skins. Then where would we be? :D

Re: Lee Shepherd's Trading Diary

Not enough mods but, in any case, the other members should have drawn the mods attention to the problem. I've seen this several times without having to read anything. When one returns, after an...

Re: No experience- do not to start real trading

When I suggested minimum of 50p per point I was not considering SP mini. That must be the most boring intrument in the market for trading at that stake. There are plenty more where interesting money...

Re: No experience- do not to start real trading

I don't want to advise anyone to start trading without a demo, if they feel better by using one but I repeat what I said earlier, If one cannot afford 50p per point then he, really, should not be...

Re: No experience- do not to start real trading

Since I have never used a demo account what does it entail? Do you get to use the same trading platform as the real traders? What is so special about it that someone cannot calculate trades and price...

Re: The end of the EU

What I'm not keen about Turkey is that their next door neighbour is Iran. Any trouble, even border skirmishes, brings EU into it, immediately.

No doubt about it, though, we're getting bigger....

Re: No experience- do not to start real trading

You can trade 50p per point with my spread co, and my opinion on anyone who cannot afford that, is clear.

He cannot afford to trade.

Leave trading alone because, after trading with demo, what...

Re: Anyone scalping the FTSE Futures??

I figured on a profit that I would be happy with. In fact, the morning was so dull for a shorter, as I was, that you get to be happy with any kind of profit. I did not, really, expect to be triggered...

Re: Anyone scalping the FTSE Futures??

I've had a short on the Footsie all morning, had to go out and see that I was within 5 points of my stop. I have mentioned limits before, on this thread, because they can be very profitable when one...

Re: Anyone scalping the FTSE Futures??

I moved my stop up and, in the end, it got triggered. Nice morning's trade, though, and hope I don't do anything daft, and lose it all this afternoon.

Re: Anyone scalping the FTSE Futures??

I'm long but conscious of the fact that I am countertrading to what I feel will be a strong down trend.

However, we have all had those feelings before, haven't we?
