Van K Tharp's new free test:

think 'Novice'/'Pro' is just Tharp's differention, I tried both and the
result was the same

once you've done the test and read about your Type and your
'Trading Strengths/Challenges', you can also read the about the
other 12 Types

What type of trader are you?

I thought there were only 2 types: successful or unsuccessful. (I understand V Tharp is neither)

Van Tharp is renowned for creating things that draw people into taking more courses and paying for old NLP stuff (look up NLP on skeptics dictionary or any genuine psych or scientific site to get a feel for the tested validity of the "technology").

The link above offers a set of questions that lead to a trite automated response and ... of course ... the invitation to leave your email address for a more detailed response.

After doing the test, I was on cloud NINE! (sorry bout the pun, nine) .....It seems I'm the new Paul Tudor Jones! Which is a bit odd, since I don't have any strategy or methodology at all... yet!

tip of the day: If you'd like to do the quiz, but don't wanna give your email address, just use a fake one.. or go to bugmenot or any other disposable email address service to create your own temporary inbox.

I found a nice article about NLP.. it looks like there are just as many scammers in that kinda of psycho-business as in the business of market wizardry. Tharp's reason for applying NLP is based on the assumption that if one person can do a particular trick, anyone can learn that trick as well, by "re-programming" your brain. The next snippet puts that assumption in a totally different perspective... most of all humorous!

...Another NLP presupposition which is false is "If someone can do something, anyone can learn it." This comes from people who claim they understand the brain and can help you reprogram yours. They want you to think that the only thing that separates the average person from Einstein or Pavarotti or the World Champion Log Lifter is NLP.

I am a strategic trader, in the mould of Paul Tudor Jones, apparently.

Well, we share the same first name, but thats about it.

With regards to point above about selling more courses, I wonder how many people get told "trading is not for you; go find something else to do"?

from report:
"You have a strong desire to be right, even to the extent of perfectionism. This might cause you to never actually trade because you're continually trying to develop or buy better systems."

oh dear, I can relate to the fact I vaccilate sometimes for the "perfect" price, I end up getting in at worse price, and screwing up my risk/reward.

apparently I am a Facilitative Trader ... !! in the mould of the great William O'Neil lol...

Administrative trader here. And I did find the review quite reflective. Good link.

As for me i'm a Planning Trader! It was quite an interesting read, recommend people to take it
Be advised though.. no matter what you answer, the result will never be "You are the biggest douche and you shouldn't trade if you're dear life depended on it". Grain of salt anyone? :D
