Stocks That Move

Is it the case, more often than not, that stocks that are going to move at the open have gapped up/down.

If my logic is correct (which it most often is not) any news that comes out after the close and before the open will have been traded and this, in effect, causes the gap.

A 'pointer in the right direction' would be appreaciated.

Thanks
Steve

Not necessarily, Nasdaq stocks often move without gapping either way.

For those interested in trading US stocks for a living, the new "private" forum includes threads on exactly this subject.
Naz and/or myself usually post a small number of those stocks one of us anticipates will move well BEFORE market open. We often discuss our trades on those stocks as well. Many members are finding what we are doing rather profitable for them.

Evening trades

CAT - a favourite of mine (NYSE) does not seem so tradeable this evening (7pm+)?
5 min. chart

Perhaps the Dow would suit you better - does anyone trade shares via cfd's in te evening?
