Audio Broadcast VIX Index of U.S. Stock Option Prices Retreats 3.6% to 60.72

Dec. 3 (Bloomberg) -- The Chicago Board Options Exchange Volatility Index, a gauge of how much investors pay for insurance against share-price declines, fell 3.6 percent to 60.72 today. This report includes commentary by Matt Shapiro, a VIX options trader at Stutland Equities LLC, David Kotok, chief investment officer at Cumberland Advisors Inc. and Jeffrey Kleintop, chief market strategist at LPL Financial.
