Hi,

Just would like to know how many pips you guys make per day/week/month?

Thanks.

Hi Unreal - As Pazienza says, its meaningless on its own. Worse, focusing on pip count can distort your market / trading perceptions.

I have posted another thread elsewhere here asking whose trading makes the average UK weekly earnings (£500) - not many people have said they do.

Do not think I will hang out here much longer then. Is this site really full of such losers with no equity?

over the last 6 weeks i average 7 pips a day...if my eurusd swing trade long hits 1.375 then that will become 16 pips a day!

Your stupid question has been done to death, similarly the question "how much did you earn last year?" crops up with repeated tedium. Here's a thread from last year that just went on and on...I actually thought you were this poster under a new identity at first, we've had a plague of them recently. I've got most on ignore, you've just made the list. if I wanted to converse with borderline and extreme personality disorders I'd volunteer as a visitor in Rampton. :D

I was not the OP, I think you have me confused with him but what I said was pretty arrogant, so apologies but I expected there to be a lot more people here making more than 500 quid a week.

My business partner generally ends each month with a negative number of pips. He still makes 20% gains on a good month !

D'ya know there used to be a good lad on 'ere who posted up a similar argument last Jan/Feb, he had a mate who made negative pips but still made money, it drove some of the contributors to the last thread on this subject manic...Now then, what was his name...'ang on it'll come to me..ooh..ooh! Zupcon, that was him. Talked a lot of sense that lad, worked out of Malta.. :D

He's a good lad Dan IMO, hope he's still going tbh, but I cba to check.

Spreading the madness across this suite of forums...;)

Would you like to explain that? Some people would be interested in seeing your explanation.

He probably scalps in a large stake size and swing trades. My short term trades will have the same risk return as my medium term trades and my stake size for the short term trades can be over 5 x the size of the medium. I might lose 70 ticks and make 20, but the 20 has more value than the 70.

If he generally ends each month with a negative number of pips because of losing so many pips on scalping, then he should stop scalping.
If he still makes 20% gains on a good month (which means he has recovered all his scalping losses PLUS made a 20% gain) then he should focus on the swing trades only because they are much more profitable.
Any trader who consistently generally ends each month with a negative number of pips (and) still makes 20% gains on a good month ! needs to learn to control his urge to try to scalp the market.
