I would like to know which of you honestly think you could turn $5000.00 USD into a Million USD in three months, assuming 5 trading days a week, 4 weeks a month.

Might I add, you must do so without risking blowing up an account. So you'd have to trade responsibly just very aggressive. No percentage rules or anything like that.

No family, no kids, no work, no distractions, just you, coffee, cigarettes, whatever your fancy.

Mehow has a post about his 3 month results (which are less than this, but impressive none the less) and that got me to thinking, this was too off-topic :clover:to continue it on his thread.

You can't do without the risk of blowing your account up. Add that risk in and it's doable, but still extremly unlikey.

id say 100k might (but highly doubtful) be possible. your want to be trading on leverage and trade literally 24/7

5min-30min charts, 10 - 20 trades a day at 3-5% risk? There's gotta be some people out there who do it.

yes, it would have to be close to 24/7, but I think it could be accomplished. Not that you'd want to be a screen zombie for that long.

I've turned a 3k account into 41k in 2 months using only 10:1 leverage(I don't use this kind of leverage on my main account). I could do it with 20:1 leverage as my biggest open position dd was about 120 pips which would be about 25% using 20:1 leverage.

Nice, that's the kind of stuff I'm looking for. it's interesting to hear these varied results from traders

Here's one way to put it. $5,000 --$3 million in 3 months is like getting 119 pips per day, constantly being compounded at the end of every trade for the entire duration of the trade. Most people don't average that many pips per day, and most don't have the discipline to keep compunding like that without pulling out the money. That also would be 300 lots by the time you get to $3 million at 10%. It leaves me skeptical.

In other words you are saying you got 107 pips per day while constantly compunding your lots on every trade?
That's feesible. I am asking, though.

Sorry, but this thread is a bit silly. In trading, anything is possible (to quote Mark Douglas) but perhaps even he would draw the line at this kind of return, absenting the potential to blow up the account.

May I ask, what's the point of the question, seeing as it's nonsensical? Why not $1bio?

That's why I posted the numbers. You are right. It is sillly. It's probably time to unsubscribe from this one.

I don't know what a $1bio is, but the point of the question was to see what the most aggressive traders have been able to do. I guess the risk of blowing up the account is always there, I was just looking for people who could do huge numbers on 3-5% per trade. Anyone could blow up an account though, so disregard that.

5k to 100k is just as valid a question. but I think there are actually quite a few who could do that if they had to.

I'm a swing trader so I don't look at the amount of pips I make per day. Also remember that as the account increases the lot size increases so it would take about 2500 pips over the two months. Also sometimes I do go over the 10:1 eg. If balance was at 8k I would just use a 1 standard lot or at 17k I would just use 2 lots, etc

Thats the problem - these type of calculations need nearly 100% consistent wins and compounding......easy to say you can pull x pips from market on any given day, but to do it every day for 6 months or whatever basically ignores the reality of losing days...

If you got a million people and assigned them all the task, then of course you would have some that did what you are asking.

This need not mean those people are good traders -just that through the laws of probability some would luck out.

In terms of setting this up as a goal for yourself, it is not realistic. It would result in losing 5 grand and to be honest, I'd rather give 5 grand to charity than spunk it on some unrealistic goal.

Now, I am sure there will be some "Be all that you can be" and "don't let anyone tell you it's impossible" type guys that will take on the challenge. They'll be the one's starting threads in 3 months time about spunking 5 grand on the markets.

Yeah, but I've seen someone go through a whole two months turning 3k into 38k without any significant dd on another forum(made it look easy too). I personally think a lot of people make a lot of cash trading FX, we just don't hear much about them or they are too busy trading some rich fracker's money....

I know that was really my point.
