Damn, didn't realise ODT had been banned. ODT if you're reading it's probably for the best that you move on...TBH I was surprised (after your last ban) that you swallowed your pride/dignity and came back, you obviously *needed* T2W as an outlet/touching stone whilst trading, but honestly some folk are just not suited to posting on forums and I'd put you in that category. You weren't; malicious, a bully, a troll...you were just a bit...well....odd...very odd at times...

Just wanted to add something else if I may, nothing wrong with a good toe to toe stand up on a one to one basis, but please lads let's not flock to the scene of a ruck and put the boot in whilst someone is getting battered eh? It's the kind of 5hit house behaviour you see on footy forums, we're better than that eh?... ;)

happened within the past few hours. he posted in a thread of his that i replied to about betting sequences just about 5 hours ago. Nothing malicious there though. Black Swan I agree with you he's just not suited to posting in forums.

Peter

ADDED: I see at least 1, maybe 2 entire threads with ODT's posts have been removed. Chances are we are not going to see the real good post that broke the straw!

I put him on ignore at the same time as I put The Expert on ignore (which happened to coincide with his being banned more or less, but I didn't know at the time), so I've not seen his stuff in the last week or so. First time I had ever found it necessary to use this facility.

As for putting the boot in; well, Dionysius Toast gave me pause for thought when he talked about the mob mentality in relation to The Expert. While I disliked The Expert, I didn't want to be associated with anything that could be construed as bullying him. On the other hand, both The Expert and ODT had something of the bully about them IMHO, so unfortunately, they did bring it on themselves to some extent.

Banning was probably inevitable, but one wonders how effective this will be. People seem to find their way back somehow or other.

People do find there way back onto the forum after a ban. I think if its possible, it may be more effective to let the user continue posting and from the users pov everything stays the same, however in reality his/her posts no longer show on the form. Kind of like a ignore feature for all users.

Maybe if there was a token fee, say £5 a month, you'd get fewer time wasters like him.. just a thought.

I don't know. A few dollars for a month of being an idiot/comic/spastic/wind up/ etc... sure seems like a cheap form of entertainment for those diehards.

It's yet another 10 day holiday type ban at this stage although the guy never seems to learn from it...patience is wearing thin.

Five bucks a month?
Bad idea I do believe.
Mostly because I would not pay!

I do like the idea that when people get "banned" every thing looks normal to them but we never see them again!
Only problem with that is SOME of them would be smart enough to figure out that no one is arguing back after a while.

But then again some wouldn't:whistling

I think that, despite being open to anyone, the large majority (85%+) of punters on this site are trying to use it/add to it with best intentions.

However, it only takes a couple of tools to bring the overall tone down, not sure what the solution is.

Ban everyone.

At least that's sometimes the case on a couple other forums I'm on.
