10 and 11 are a bit of a contradiction aren't they?

Only talks about his own success but is also humble?

And also, we're being rather sexist aren't we? ;)

P.S. You are better off rephrasing the question "Who is the best of the regular posters?"

The best trader on this forum will be one that no one will know because they rarely (if ever), post.

I know of one personally that has made tens of millions himself that most would consider a "wizard" in his own right. He browses the site from time to time.

me bitch; i traded penny stocks and some blue chips and had an average gain of 28% in two months

There are traders who talk about PTJ and the like , instead of concentrating on themselves.
What difference does it make to us as traders , if somebody else makes a trillion.Nothing.Lets talk about what we make.

This list of qualities is a bit absurd...

Firstly, you mix professional qualities with personal ones. Secondly, many of the criteria you give (e.g. 2, 4 and 8) cannot be defined in an unambiguous fashion. Thirdly, some other criteria, such as 5 and 7, are patently silly.

i think if you added in "not" to all those criteria you would have a pretty good list of all ODT's failings. maybe his sub conscious is at work here which explains the huge chip on his shoulder

Actually I wrote the list because it would exclude you in every way.All jokes apart ,somebody with the above criteria would be my ideal trader.

10) and 11) do not go together?

Hasnt it got to be whoever makes the most % profit?

If he relies on inside information , the profits come from a dishonest edge.

4)consistently profitable - define consistently profitable.

Can earn a profit every week , preferably everyday.

so by your **** definition the best trader has to be a day trader? your such a moron

Why do they have to be a HE?
And why do they have to be trading their own money?

Im sure this has been said. Why do 1) 3) 5) 6) 7) 8) 9) 10) 11) make you a good trader?

1)Trading and risking your own money is risked differently to institutional money. If it is other people's money , traders do not trade with as much caution .

5)If trader made most of his money as a salaried employee of a bank, as a commission agent on a bonds desk, its not really trading. If somebody made made his entire wealth from trading , it shows how good a trader he really is.

6)it proves how good a trader he really is

7)Proves his overall skills as a trader who can be the market , no matter what conditions.Separates the amateurs from the pros.

9,10,11)Nice qualities.
