Who are the UK wizards? I know of a few wizards (J. Schwager types) from the states, but who would be in the top ten UK wizards list from the last 50 years say?

Please, do not mention yourself, or any other members of t2w past or present, banned or not banned, this is a serious thread.

One more note, try not to google this it may be a little self defeating as we should know a few between us at least. I'll start us off...i don't know any off the top of my head.

In the style of Market Wizards, I guess Alan Howard (Brevan Howard) and Chris Hohn (TCI) would be in with a shout.

Mmmm, maybe us brits are just not cut out for Schwager style wizardry, a little too reserved perhaps? I think it was Zanger (i may be wrong) who described his style of trading like, 'riding a motorbike very fast at a wall from about 8 foot away', or something along those lines. Outrageous for us brits who would much prefer a tandem ride in the country carrying a pic-nic basket.

google or not, it would be good to get a short biography if you're going to post a name, so we can relate to them, their styles, their backgrounds, etc.

in time, we might even get some idea of common traits, styles or beliefs in these UK Wizards.

Where's BSD when you need him? By now he'd have had a full top ten with links and everything.:)

What, cause we're amateur psychologists now?

Some people have it, some don't.

Joe Lewis - Lives in Cayman or Bahamas and made billions off currency trading.

Can He Be Irish?

The Sundance Kid JP McManus. I dont know how active he is these days in the currency market. I heard  he had an army of foreign-exchange traders working for him. I think he and Joe Lewis had some partnership in a Fx syndicate also.

Ok then, it looks like we will have to accept t2w members past and present, banned or not. Are there any budding wizards at t2w, anyone just in the process of compounding the gold contracts, is Jack Schwager going to be calling on you for his next book?

Why of course, he can even be Chinese/Irish or Irish/Moroccan.

Their true performance depends on how much leverage they are using to get the returns.

Without knowing their strategy and seeing audited results, they might have been been just lucky and had a good run.
