hi guys & gurls.. today i've made a big mistake..

im not consider myself as professional yet, however i decided to confess here because i think it will make me feel better..

first of all, i do have my trading rules, but i dunno why this week... it has been kinda pressure for me, i seems cant concentrate and focus enough probably because im having some ache or allergic within my teeth, it is really feeling uneasy and really something like toothache.

i've learn my lesson here, if youre sick or abnormal with your day due from any body parts or something else.. be very careful if you are trading short-term. it would screw up your observation and your 'view' / feeling with the market.

now about the mistake, fortunately i believe this is something still recoverable, the drawdown isnt so big for most of you i believe, (dont bother ask me how much, its less than 5%) but personally.. im having hard time accepting this losses and it is purely from my own mistake.

im really disappointed with whats happening to me!

now for the trading mindset, i will repeat here to share it with all of you and hope i can feel better after this

Biggest enemy of trader :

- i attempt to expect what market will do for me
- i gambled on demo and this is very dangerous because it is giving you fake confident in making money. DONT EVER GAMBLE doesnt matter youre on demo or live, it WONT HELP YOU to BECOME BETTER TRADER!!!
- with the fake confident, i assumed it could do the same with real account, so i was literally being dishonest with myself and break my own trading rules then enter the market with live account
- im greedy
- i had my ache and its really giving me pressure with trading
- i attempt to revenge the losing trade and my idiot mind starts creating tremendous amount of imaginative ways how to make the money back again. (you all hope dont ever fall into this.. !)
- i start looking for excuse why im losing (instead i refused to accept losses is part of the game)

Hope you all read this carefully and try to remember this when youre in this situation...

update : i know im dont really often surf t2w forum these day, but i remember used to create trash post in t2w and very arrogant manner alike around here, hope you all dont take it so seriously back then. and im very sorry about that.

Everyone,
sad to hear about your day. I had a very bad similar day fairly recently...a few bad results unsettled me and that lead to a downward spiral of stupid mistakes and oversized revenge trades. At the end of it I really thought I had permanently lost my way with trading. A few days off and some disciplined rules helped me get back on track. A week later it was like it had never happened.
There'll always be times when the markets going to teach us a lesson.
Your list of 'enemies of traders' is excellent.
I keep real and demo accounts, if I catch myself about to break a rule I try and do that trade on demo to get the urge out.

Thanks for being open about a bad day and the lessons you've learnt from it.
Have a good weekend.

You don't grow without making mistakes. Mistakes provide valuable lessons that stick.

You are man enough to admit both trading mistakes and personal ones.

They are in the past - don't let them eat you up. Move forward now.

Analyse coldly what went wrong on the trading front and how not to let it happen again. If necessary break everything down into lots of small steps if everything seems too overwhelming. Tick each item off as you make practical progress to recovery.

Good trading

Mate I lost 100 this week (which is a fair bit to me lol) after having a good few days. Got over confident and then the losers put me in a bad place mentally and I started revenge trading with very little planning. Point is I realised if I ever want to do this properly my tiny bit of experience has shown me that it's all about dusting yourself off and getting back in from a fresh approach. Dwelling f--ked up my decision making. Plus how much did you actually lose? If it weren't grands I'd hate to see how you'd cope trading large. Me too lol ;)

Down about 10% in last 10 or so days.....Today i got stopped on 2 pairs which is 4%.Also got fill on AUDUSD,banked some money, trailed my stop and if i would close that trade right now i would be up for a day.....
Cheer up!..That is trading, you know..I might even say that i like to loose as i am still learning and from losses that i had i have had some precious lessons...
Regards,
VTK

Well, sad for you.
Every day i have check list i have to fill and to sign,

My list :
1st : have a breakfast ( before i was taking positions as soon as i a woke up..... not good before a good and strong cofee..)
2nd : check forex daily calendar ( i put on my chartsoftware vertical lines to beware of FA)
3rd : read my plan (cut the Tv to be focus on reading)
4th : read the mistake list of the last week
5th : is the mood ok ? then ok, if not, wait for the mood to be ok
i take no position since i’ve filled all cases. (well, sometime i drink my cofee quickly to be in the market, but anyway it helps to not do stupid things... i was often loosing on the first trade)

When i am in a mood to gamble, i go in demo and do some hardcore scalping. After loosing a lot i feel more able to follow my plan, lol

Your thread reminds of this thread started yesterday on elitetrader.

Yes, as you well remember I made a few comments about your posts especially when you were inviting people to approach you for coaching..........but I've got to say your apology shows you've got guts, so respect to you everyonerich and I hope things go better for you in the future :)

Technicallymental/aaronmalins is the only one of the 190,000 t2w members I have on ignore (unsurprisingly in view of the unsurpassed sheer trashiness of his posts and his professed wish to see me dead LOL) so I have no idea what he says, but there seems to be a reference to him having stated he's lost 100%.
I'm sorry to hear that, no-one should get wiped out.
Oh to hell with it, he's brought it on himself.
What goes around, comes around.
I wouldn't want anyone to think I'm getting soft :cheesy:

Actually, everyonerich, having re-read your OP, I reckon it's one of the most valuable posts I've seen in a long time and it's taken courage to write it - your experiences will make you stronger - like I said, respect

Don't worry you can sleep soundly tonight. I think he meant £100 not 100% - that was someone's drollery.

Come on now, let's all get along. After all it is Christmas.....oh no it isn't come to think...I really must have had a bad week also ...

So he has lost all his trading capital and savings.........
