50% tax is a right **** up by Labour - we are going to lose so many intelligent, hard working people, and good, even at 40% I resented EVERY penny I gave to this Jade Goody worshiping nation! Alistair Darling and Gordon Brown obviously went to the Kerry Katona school of economics .... not much to keep you in a country that rains most of the time, full of chavvy plebs and where half a million gets you a 1 bed flat in EAST London

I'm off

But where??? I really need advice on this. I don't mind tax per se, I could live in Singapore or Geneva where the income tax is like 15-20%, obviously Gib or Dubai is perfect BUT I'm a day scalper of eurex futures like dax and bund, and I know there are huge performance issues with the systems. So does anyone know of any place where people trade, pay low tax and have London speed connections to the exchange? (y)

if you fall under that tax bracket you should be well traveled and hence know where is good \ not good to live.

Italy, with its tax on trading at 12% fixed. Broadband is a little behind that of UK and France, but you can get something fairly decent if you are in a city. And well, it is about as far away as possible from a "country in which it rains most of the time" ...

very helpful mate, well done

You obviously don't know how different the systems are around the world, so keep schtum (n)

how rich are you? Monaco no question for me..or Switzerland

Not very

but it's all relative - losing half your income of 500k is the same pain as losing half your income at 5m ....

I'm on about £250-300k - don't like the idea of working 1day in every 2 for the government ... I'd rather retire younger!

Don't kid yourself.Rocket scientists are like rare ,rare diamonds whereas overpaid mediocrity by virtue of connection can be found virtually anywhere and are not diffciult to replace.
We have this nonsense every once in a while where the piper has to be paid and people spit their dummies in outrage. Most will stay because regardless of rhetoric life is more than simply money. Some will leave and their posts will be nicely filled by the next generation of ambitious would be achievers.
None of like to think we are replaceable ,but the harsh truth is we are. Has for replacing a forex scalper. You must be joking ,just one more ulcer ridden patient my wife won't have to stitch up ;) ..on the bright side low tax trading havens usually cauterise wounds ;) ..without anaesthetic ;)

Im considering seting up team in Dubai

Good, but you do know what the sand is going to do the paint work on your 30 differently coloured p(e)nis substitutes ;)

"p(e)nis "...now that's what you have to do ..fool the system ,but play by the rules when it comes to tax

I'm sorry mate, but what on EARTH are you blithering on about? When did I say I was a forx scalper ... how can anyone even scalp FOREX you bl00dy moron? It's unscalpable, you need to run things offside and on in that market. As for replacable? What on earth are you going on about, I'm talking about doing the same job in a tax haven, or a lower tax country that I'm doing now. Do you even know what trading is? How did you wind up on a trading forum??? You do know you can trade the same products anywhere in the world don't you? I mean, are you some miserable drop put who never made it and just has issues with people that have? :sneaky:

Poor little fella!! :cheesy:

It's also suitably corrupt ...

Yes George, I am so odd I retired years ago as a youngish man and did what you think you'd liketo do in the years ahead.
I hope you find it a better ,more rewarding experience than I did. I was glad to come back and take on more challenges and as for tax it's just one more challenge as far as I am concerned.BUT ,we are all different so good luck with what you are trying to do.

You should consider Hong Kong.

British system - so familiar.
English widely spoken.
An international finance centre.
Rule of law still in play via the courts (still on Brit system).
No tax on capital gains, or indeed anything other than HK generated income.
High speed 24 hour broadband.
Local representation/branches of banks/brokers etc.
If you are a Brit you will automatically get your passport stamped for a 6 month stay on arrival.
A no brainer?

Oh. I forgot to mention

No chavs/yobs etc.
Walk anywhere safely.
No litter, no graffiti.

In other words a well behaved, law-abiding citizenry.

bravo ol chum bravo.. like many before, you have managed to pull a nice little croud of gullible replies. i wonder if any of them have stopped for a second to actually put what you are asking into context. maybe i am just being a c0ck and if i am thats just the age talking. i just find it amusing how someone claiming to earn what you claim asking complete strangers over the internet for advice. perhaps you found success on cupid.com and think you might strike it lucky with a stranger over the net once again. dont you think you would be better off speaking to an expert in this field or do you place more significance with strangers on a retail traders forum. you are either a tight **** or just plain stupid.
