Hi there,

I'm getting phone calls from very annoying salespeople. Usually a "Paul Ferguson" or another british name with a super Indian accent ;)

I have only signed up for three services within trading. IG index, Zulutrade and trade2win.... Leaving me with a suspicion that trade2win are selling my phone number. I don't say that they do - but I would like to hear if anyone else has the same problems? :|

Best Regards,

Brian

I'm not aware of any field nor requirement to register a telephone number for T2W membership.

Anyone else know?

I don't think so. I get calls from lots of sales people, but that's because I've entered lots of online competitions and offers. None of them ever relate to trading.

T2W categorically do not sell any details of any member to anyone else and never would do. Also when any one signs up to T2W there is no option to include telephone numbers so how could they possibly sell something that they don't have ?

Point taken - It's two years ago I signed up, so I couldn't remember what information I passed on.
So - trade2win is then of the list. Have to find the guilty one..

I occasionally get unsolicited calls too.
I dont think T2W is involved.
I suspect your data is harvested during anything you have to click on.
Mostly, I seem to get calls after watching a youtube video on investments/trading, etc these days.

They are only interested in your money - say you dont have enough disposable income, or ask for their regulatory body/FSA membership numbers, etc. Block their numbers.
In fact, any question regarding if they are regulated, puts them on the back foot.

its amazing where people can scam your details ....i wouldnt necessarily blame a trading related source for someone selling you financial products .....they may have angled this from another method

i like getting these calls if i have time ..........great fun winding them up and trying to sell them stuff ....!!!

especially people selling trading courses .........fantastic banter .........my favourite recently was from a guy claiming he could make me 10% a month from a system trading at best a couple of times a week ......as we dissected his process the tables turned and eventually he surrendered ........not a bad guy in the end and confessed he had no idea what he was selling and was being paid commission.....

Thanks Sharky - Sorry for posting the question in the forum - Just trying to see how I can avoid it :)
