With all the Internet and technology these days, will there ever be a time when the markets will be open 24/7?

Where have you been!

If you want 24/7 trading, then might I suggest cryptocurrencies.

The volatility may or may not suit you, therefore my recommendation would be to own the stuff with a longer term in mind, and cash out partials to fund new plays.

The bitcoin markets are open 24/7/365 I think. Get in there and show them what you can do with the buy high sell low.

My bro failed in betting football now he's trying to give me job to trade bitcoin 24/7/365. I just laughed. When people are desperate, they'd do anything.

I din't say trade it or any of the rest of them. You have to be prepared to own it. stellar gains are possible and so are stellar losses.

Do you have the cahoonas for that Joe !

I am the only one with with no limits around here. I have more cahoonas, whatever that is, than anyone.

But I told my bro I don't do kiddie stuff. I'd trade bank-made cryptos, but not the ones made by kiddies.

Trading the kiddie stuff is possible. The pattern I can see is that the big players accumulate for a couple of years, spike the price up then sell out. The cycle then resets. This stuff is too slow for me. FX markets have shorter tradable cycles and far more interesting.

Yeah, I can see how 485% in a day could be too slow.

If that's called fast, £1 lotto can get you million+ % per week.

Are you making good actual returns from crypto ? I am not much into what is possible theoretically. I don't think you are a young'un like brewski, so something practical would produce a more useful return.

For me at least, every single cell in my entire being dislikes the kiddie crypto, same way I dislike using lotto for making returns. I won't mind the bank crypto if they come up with some. Then there will be some economic basis.

I'm only just getting started down this crypto route and may or may not get involved. But the real point is that it's probably another area which needs to be taken into account and monitored as time moves forward. If the kiddies are doing it today, then it could become mainstream tomorrow, is my take on it.

Also, govt's and fiats cannot be trusted and as more people come to realise this, they might well try to remove themselves from their control.

Bankera ICO is underway, which may be what you refer to.

I can give you a good reason to not get involved. It is not possible to subvert state power in eastern countries, and it is not possible to subvert bank power in western countries without a violent revolution. Kiddie coins will be extinguished by these powers when the time comes. China has already taken the first step. The banks in the west are just waiting for the kiddies to be done thrashing around, then they move in to pick up the fruits of the kiddies' labour. When the banks move in, the kiddie coins will become worthless overnight.

Crypto currencies will become mainstream when issued by banks. They have the muscle to make some basic guarantees. It will work a bit like how credit cards were introduced and popularised.

I don't know who Bankera is. When bank of England start minting cryptos, that would be a good moment for entry.

All currencies are controlled and manipulated by the powers behind them. This is natural and wholesome. Kiddie cryptos work in the same way, except these are a whole lot less sophisticated than what banks can do. If I lose money in kiddie crypto, I'd feel like I got robbed by an amoeba and it will do immeasurable damage to my ego. If I get robbed by the banks, at least I can understand it since their power justifies their ability.

Typical, "I don't believe in anything new" type reaction. Far from being enlightened Joe, you appear to think there is safety in numbers
Good luck with that !

I do believe in something new. I believe there's great future in crypto once the banks pick it up and I can use it to buy kebabs from a local place.

Anyway, in line with my usual style, feel free to call out your crypto trades, I'd like to see how it works out. My bro bought a signal service a couple of weeks ago. Look like the usual TA junk and he's currently under water. If you can do better, I'll ask my bro to pay you instead. His money is going one way or another. He won't be happy until it's gone. A bit like brewski to be honest.

As do lemmings

The natural reaction to all things new that don't fit into our "established order" psyche, is to dismiss out of hand.

As things stand, crypto's and the technology associated with them all sounds like voodoo black magic.

My position is quite simple. I can see how this stuff might take off, particularly if there is another financial crash, or rampant inflation, devaluation theft of fiat currencies etc etc. So i'm prepared to learn as much as I can about this crazy stuff, as I think it may have a part to play in the future.

Scams abound in this new arena, so as always, do your own due diligence.
