I use the ichimoku, I was wondering if anyone uses it as well.

Perhaps we can exchange ideas?

Morning Izalza

I have used the cloud and Ichimoku method but am no expert on it - but can advise you of a guy who is one.

His name is Chris Capre and he his worth checking out via google

Good luck with it

checkout chaostrader on youtube, he has some pretty useful stuff for free rather than a paid "mentor". Something tells me you wouldn't be able to get anything off capre without paying for it.
I used to use it a lot, but not so much now

Thanks guys, i will definitely look into it. But i am curious, how did you analyze the market with it? or how did you enter trades?

I use it but have blocked out the lines and replaced them.

analysing the markets with them how they were intended. Understanding what the trend is using the cloud spans.
They have various trade signals, not least the cross of the tenkan and kijun

haha, im loving the humorous atmosphere!

Yea i only use the Kijun and Senkou span.
Kijun and Senkou Span crossovers mainly. I can not really analyze any real information from using the ichimoku.

I'm not a technical trader. But I know a couple of guys who are trend/directional traders and who use this as part of their kit, They only look at the kijun in relation to a longer moving average for context and the price in relation to it for timing. Way too complicated for me.

I checked out "chaostrader", his method is fairly simple and is utilize like most ichimoku users.

His strategy is based on calling every line an area of interest. Kijun, Tenkan, and Senkou spans, any crossover, any price reaction on the line is his area of interest.

His method has some common potholes.

But I see that he has spoken about waiting for confluence on a larger time-frame, which gives higher success rate of the trade entry.

Which is something I believe and exercise as well.

He is not bad, though I do not agree entirely with his method. 1 of the potholes is that his trade signals can be short-term, but he has no other indicator to really add clarity besides using the Kijun and Tenkan cross-over. It can easily whip out his stops.

Not better that other sh*t systems like fibonacci, etc. It is my own opinion I believe that market is something more complicated and is barely subject to plain coloured lines..

Haha, I like to say that there are different religions in the 'trading world'.

I myself believe in only 50% technical, 30% discretion, and 20% fundamental.

Interesting, never knew Ichimoku was used often for trend/directional trading. I would look into it but I've cut down on indicators to very simple ones (MACD, Envelopes and RSI), and pay more attention to price action lately.

Yea I honestly think it is one of the best indicators. It works really well if you set the parameters to suit your trading strategy. I use Heiken Ashi for trend momentum. I have been doing quite well with my strategy so far. Been testing all my trades on ZuluTrade.
