Is there a tool or indicator out there that tells you the angle of a trendline you draw on a chart on MT4?

Try a search for Gann Grid. Maybe post the indy here if you find a good one.

Haven't you realized it's much easier for him to post the questions here, let someone else do the work and just give him the answer?

In 21 years my 2 kids combined didn't ask as many questions as this guy

Good try mate however I dont like my charts clogged up so much looks like I need to resort to this digital version or get a protractor

A protractor won't help you because you can alter the perspective of your charts. A different perspective gives the appearance of different angles. You will need to find an indicator that does the math or just do the math yourself. See the charts below. Both are exactly the same EURUSD 5 minute chart. The 2nd one was zoomed in and the price axis squeezed. A protractor is good for a map or drawing where the perspective (both the x & y axis) doesn't change.

Also, in case you use a protractor for anything else they should not be used on-screen because computer displays generally distort image dimensions in such a way as to make the measurements imprecise. In other words always print out what you need.

So which one of those settings do the professionals use? Id like to be the first to ask.

In MT4 click Insert\Lines\Trendline by Angle

Then as you draw the trendline look in the lower left hand corner where the origin of the line is and behold the angle values.

i just got back in and a quick google found what was required, and no i'm not linking. off you go pips you lazy thing you. you want it, get googling

exactly what I was looking for thank you. Saves me a couple of quid for a protractor :)

Try zooming in or out and see how the degree of the angle stays the same but the trendline will be drawn differently even though it's the SAME chart.

Sometimes I feel like I just talk to myself when I reply to these threads. This is why few people here take you serious.

May I ask what the concept is behind measuring this angle? Did you read about it on forexfactory?

probably got it off that loz lawn fella, or that numpty robertson or someone. had pips been over at ff he'd have known the pitfalls already, surely?

zoom problems? ... :)

draw your angular line with the Trendline By Angle tool

then draw a trendline right on top of this with the regular trendline tool

then delete the former.

the Englishman was told by his indian host that there would be no point whatsoever in having 3 clocks that all showed the same time. The Englishman continues to be puzzled by this logic

"It pays to measure the angle of every trendline (and write them down on the chart)

Comparing angles of trendlines shows whether the dominant market crowd is becoming more bullish or bearish.

It is uncanny how often trendlines trace the same angle time and again for a given market.

It may be because the key players seldom change"
