Capital international Ltd

Well if I had to guess....

No guesses PB, I was in a pub tonight in a rural area when I read about these guys, I guessed that this is a bunch of monk bonks but when I expressed my opinion somebody took great offence to the extent that he acted agressively, (bit dumb on his part but there we are). There is a firm nearby that advertises on their behalf, If they are what I think they are then I want to be primed. I intend to attend their next "free seminar" and want to have the relevant questions to hand.

They are regulated in the Isle of Man, so far not much else. Can an IOM company give investment advice in the UK given the fact that IOM is a Crown Dependency and not a part of the UK?

Seems they are not able to be passported from the IOM so would need to be FSA registered.

There is a company with the same name on the FSA register, however the address is in London and their website is Capital International Asset Management. So a different company I'm sure.

So unless they are registered under another name with the FSA it seems they are not regulated in the UK to provide investment advice.

Many thanks for this PB, It's enough to go on for their next seminar (free attendance of course). I'll post the pics on here in a few months.

To be honest if they are running free 'investment seminars' you've probably guessed their game.

I have but I also have a business in the area, I want to suss the opposition. I don't want to see my customers ripped off by anyone else.:)

I should have billed you.
I buy you a beer in the future. My business is in IT not trading, the area in which I live has a lot of affluent people with retirement funds, my impression is that they are being targeted either for genuine "forecourt service" investment or a plain rip off. I will pop along to their next get together to decide which.
PS I am not a rip off merchant, just a crusher of those that are.:cool::smart::smart:
