Initial Jobless Claims = 401k

Well, if my interpretation is correct, it's pretty f***ing bad if an honest American citizen loses his or her job! The coded message seems to be that if you're made redundant, all you've got is your pension plan.

But please correct me if I've misinterpreted anything.
 
It's higher than last week, but lower than the 4 week moving average. TBH, except for jolting the markets for no reason, it has very little value. It's only those who file a claim. Those whose benefits have expired or have not yet filed due to receiving some type of layoff package don't count.

I don't put much faith in any of the govt's numbers. The methodolgy for most of them is outdated. Certainly makes good trading though.

Joking aside, it often seems that consensus expectation on Euro data is a lot more accurate than for US data.

Well, the army is always open for business and hiring. With them wanting to take down the syrians, they could be offering up extra pay.
 
I reckon that cad number is gonna be downside. Any takers...

I'm done for today already. Up a few with all the wild swings in aud and eur. No sense risking any of it. Markets could flatten out instantly since we have NFP tomorrow.

Who knows? gpb, usd, eur all battling to be the worst currency. The winner goes to zero.

Well I was just thinking usd cad might have taken a toll and curde inventories didn't look good.

usdcad down nice from yesterday. There was another thread here where someone was shorting it yesterday. Could take a pop if oil and eur move up.
