right who else is using this?

from one reason and another I am still here (which sucks for me more than it sucks for you). anyway I saw dinosoar toast did a thing in it so I signed up just to see whats what.

from what i can tell so far ninjatrader is an execution platform and a charting platform and a backtesting platform.

does anyone do executions on it? I have looked at the dom and tbh its not very good.

the charting so far is good and has lots of users and is cheap, so plus points here.

I dunno about backtesting but here is my question coming up

<question>

what other platforms are OK with a kinetic data feed? because so far I signed up to US stocks and CME e minis so can you do portfolio backtesting on a kinetic data feed?

anyway if you have the same just chime on in

so far ninjatrader is good for graphs but not really execution material (after one day lol)

I have no experience in it tbh, but also interested to see who uses Market Profile and what they think?

Kinetick is a rebundled DTN IQ feed. It's specifically for Ninja and I believe Ninja = Kinetic. I wouldn't expect it to work on any other platform. A lot of people use Ninja because brokers give it away for free with Zenfire feed (which isn't that great).

If you want multiple platforms running, then maybe you need to get DTN IQ feed to feed both.

In terms of execution - the DOM is fine for me but then I do have my own DOM running too. I do like chart trader for managing positions in progress. It is a bit poor that you have to pay extra for ATM strategies and static DOM.

I use IB as a broker and I find Ninja + IB is pretty good in terms of execution. Note though, that I don't scalp. I generally use the 'quick buttons' on the DOM to hit the bid or the ask with a limit so that I don't get caught out with a badly timed market order.

I don't think there's any 100% solution out there. I quite liked Tradestation but there's things I can't do with it, so I use Ninja. Every platform I ever used had stuff in it I didn't like.

Dash - what was it with the DOM you didn't like?

Saying Kinetick is rebundled is too easy. Kinetick data and technology is provided by DTN IQ however, the interface from NinjaTrader to the DTN IQ technology is proprietary to NinjaTrader meaning, it interfaces directly to the IQ Feed servers versus going through the IQFeed API Client. Kinetick is a brand owned by NinjaTrader thus you are getting the software and data from one company.
