Do you suffer a lot when you trade? Are you under constant stress from trading? What are your thoughts about stress, and is it a major factor in your trading?

Stress in trading is not always harmful, probably depending on the source of the stress. For some traders it is imperative that they run scared. For those traders it is the emotion of fear that can generate the concentration necessary to survive.

For all traders, it has been proven that trading is a stressful business. Tests have shown that even when traders appear calm, relaxed, and comfortable during trading, their heartbeat rises, blood pressure rises, and skin moisture increases.

In other fields we see constant demonstrations of performing under stress. It is the ability to thrive under stress that sets athletic superstars apart. It is the ability to go onstage when a person's stomach is full of butterflies that can make a stage performer into a star.

An effective trader learns to handle stress. His natural instinct of self preservation is what makes him effective when challenged.

There are other forms of stress besides fear. Selfishness can cause a trader to fight greedily for what he thinks he must have. Such a trader will trade without any consideration for personal honesty. The attitude of this kind of trader is "get what you want. Win somehow."

As a trader you must find out who you are and learn to accept yourself that way, or better yet, change; become a better person.

Regardless of the source of your stress, if you are going to trade effectively, you must face the cause of it and learn to deal with it.

WHY DO YOU POST THIS SORT OF THING?

it's a non trivial effort to write it. I cannot believe it drives anyone to your website. It makes you a laughing stock here.

And it distracts from you finding some alaskan pollok to chop up and add breadcrumbs to.

So explain please.

As every doctor learns, "the difference between medicine and poison is dose."

In space astronautics loose bone mass without gravity.

Too much stress. No good. Too little stress. No good.

I go for the Goldilocks solution. The trick is, just what level is right for you.

Think you may be alone there Howard.

From what you know about me so far, do you think that idea ever entered my mind before you mentioned it? And had it entered my mind, do you think it would have changed my mind about posting that remark?

Stress is when your trading the 1 or 5 min.

I trade the 15 I have a break every 12 mins.

Trade around 3-4 trades per day.

So easy- its that or flippin burgers or working at a job.that is stress.

In these breaks I have sex with my lady and that is no joke!

Great job.

LOL....

I will tell you why traders here get stressed and lose.Apart from not knowing how to trade, they rather lose money than admit they are wrong. What is wrong is the ultimate rationalization of a trader in a losing position? "I will get out when im even" Why is that important? becuase it protects the EGO.I became a winning trader when I was ablee to say "To hell with my ego, making money is more important"

Quite alot of R/l levels are dealing with these traders getting out at even.

For real synery Self hypnosis is the wealth maker-you remove fear and ego.WOW!

Enough of this silly rant-im on red whine and shooting off to have sex! no joke LOL

Most folk get stressed because they are conditioned that way.
End of Story .

Open your eyes and "see" your culture,...........

Quit the navel-gazing, excuse-seeking, whining crap and learn to TRADE !
Obsessional "how do I feel about this?" introspection = subjectivity = failure
Focusing on getting on and doing = objectivity = possible success

I take great offense to that. I give my wife the best 2 minutes of her day between trades on my 5m chart--- with time to spare!
