Currently I trade mon-thur 7-3 and 7 pm onwards. I plan to be completely full time soon, but would welcome ideas as to what I could do along side trading throughout the day. Im not overly fussed what I do as long as its from home. I want to replace the work I have to do away from home so I can spend more time with family. In a perfect world it would be to do with trading or sales based. All ideas welcome
Thanks

If you need something else apart from trading then I would suggest that you are not in a position to give up work to trade?

Sorry mate, why give up work to do it if you are not going to give it 100%?

Good thinking, m'Lord, but that may be a dead-end.

I thought those exact same thoughts a while back, but all that happens is you split your concentration.
Since you appear to be a manual trader, you can't really afford to do this. If you had an automated system, and were "baby-sitting" it, perhaps.

I tried IT Recruitment of contractors, since IT was my background, and I could make use of my corporate contacts. Its a time-intensive activity. Thats a dead duck.
One idea I started on but then abandoned was freelance proof-reading, copywriting or submitting articles to newspapers. I have loads of stuff gathering dust, but that too is resource-intensive.

My recommendation is to trade another session, ie, the Japanese, or just increase size so that you can comfortably make 1.5x-2x your living expenses. This would allow for losing or weak patches.
Alternately, increase your TF so you have more breathing space/time between trades. This would also allow more markets to trade.
But you have settled on a particular style and TF, so stick to what works.

Once you commit to trading, its a full-time activity. Cant get around that.
Or, you could start offering your calls via twitter! :) (for a fee, of course)
Or, start doing courses in trading. :)

Thanks for comments. When I traded full time I ended up losing when you include living and family costs etc. This time round Im being more careful. My trading time is more than enough time to spend trading daily. I currently never trade more than £20 pp. I dont want to lose what I have made or put myself under pressure. Currently with the wifes and my earnings , trading is a bonus every month(well most). There are periods when the markets are not in my areas so i do have spare time, and would like to earn say £150 pw and give up my other work

Trendie, I also did IT recruitment, sold It traning courses amongst countless other sales jobs

What do you trade?
Forex? or Stocks?

What do you trade?
Forex? or Stocks?

also what is your Trading Equity/ what Lot size you trade.
Once I have more info i can guide you
as I too was in that situation, gave up a lucrative job to go full time trading

next thing i am working on is money management, maybe next year, and maybe provide a signal service

There is no better job than trading.Instead of trading #20 pp ,trade micro lots with and one can easily make 30 quid a day consistently.

flashy

how about writing a few books?

I can think of a couple of titles "Scam Artists Exposed", "The Journey to Professional Trading"

at £20 a pip, to make £150 a week, thats just 8-9 pips isn't it??
You must be clearing 15-20 pips a day, surely?

Re: job ideas wanted
the most effective and efficient way is to broaden the range of markets you trade.
