Best futures trading platform and broker

Can someone please recommend a best futures trading Platform and broker?
1. The most important thing for me is that the broker and the trading platform should work well together. So the combination of both should be a good fit. Some platforms are good but there is a huge delay of execution (up to 2 seconds) from the platform to the broker. This is unacceptable for an emini day trader.

2. Next important thing is that I can place the order directly from the chart. The charting platform does not have to be fancy. I don't use any indicators. But I need to be able to program Buy/Sell signals.

3. And finally the other important thing is margin and the commission of course.

Thanks,
Alex

hi alex have you found anything as im looking for the same thing?

Ajianfar & Astrix -- I am looking for new platforms at the moment and am currently using a Ninjatrader demo... So far so good... easy to use and free charts, data provider is CQG with unfiltered data and no noticeable lag. The broker I'm using right now (AMP Trading) says live is the same in terms of the standard version of the platform being free. I didn't inquire about commissions yet--will be going live in a week or two--but the broker who calls me every other day says they're very competitive, so I am assuming they can price match down pretty low.

Astrix,.... The best Broker/Platform combo that I know (and have used for more than a year) is Lind-Waldock (i.e. MF Global) with Genesis Trade Navigator.

Lind-Waldock has spent a lot of money on their networks to make trade executions super fast, and believe me, it is fast. They also have great customer service.

The only problem with them is their margin and commission, which is why I moved out to another broker.

But if you have over 100K in your trading account, then they will offer you a better commission.

Good luck
Alex

Thanks Successful_Trader. I will look into it. Who is your broker? Or does that even matter?

Thx.
Alex

I called AMP today, but who ever answered the phone peeved me off when he acted like he didn't believe I hadn't called before, I would be interested if they work out for you.

Do a search in this forum (futures) - as this question gets discussed a lot. I'll happily recommend Infinity - far and away the best broker I've had an account with.
Tim.

I'm using AMP Trading for ninja/cqg for 4 months already. So far so good and most importantly cheap.

hi all, can anyone please tell me where there is a charting service in the uk which offers 'live' futures charts ftse/dax/s&p etc.. which does not cost a fortune?

I am very happy with AMP/Ninja/CQG. My broker C.P. is very helpful. The data is fast and the commissions are very cheap compare to the other firms. I have another account with IB but AMP is winning so far...

OP asked for platform and brokerage... I agree w/ NinjaTrader if you plan on executing on any of your own indicators/strategies or maybe some that another person developed for you. The NinjaTrader ecosystem has an abundance of 3rd party ones and would be good for ES. It's also generally pretty snappy.

Brokerage-wise you can just google Ninjatrader to see the most popular match-ups...

Optimus www.optimusfutures.com
Cannon Trading www.cannontrading.com
Velocity www.velocityfutures.com

... and they're missing from Google but AMP www.ampfutures.com is also a popular matchup with NinjaTrader.

How many R/T are you planning on doing each day and what level of service do you need? Those two factors will really narrow down the brokerage choices.

MFG are indeed very good. They will never be the cheapest though for a retail trader who want to trade off a chart (read retail). I have used MFG for over 10 years (when they acquired refco). I cant comment on their platforms as I use a 3rd party solution, and dont want to trade off a chart.

You may find better rates with OEC ™ - Futures, Forex and Equities Electronic Trading System - Welcome . Ive never used them but they are quite highly regarded and I believe offer trading from charts as well as low commissions.

id be interested to hear which broker/platform left you waiting 2 secs for a fill!

I've heard good things about OEC as well, for what it's worth.

Traded with AMP for all of two months two summers ago. Their commissions and margin requirements were very competitive. What undid it for me were their subpar support. One of their individuals was so frustratingly maddening to me in an email exchange for something I needed help with, that I closed the account. (At the time, I still had my other brokerage account with higher commissions and requirements, and I was in the process of shifting all of my capital, but immediately reversed my decision). Below is some of the communication (redacted to protect privacy). All are chronologically reversed (old on bottom). I don't know, but this exchange broke my patience.
