OK, so I have noticed that most of what is said back and forth, that is not directly related to trading, tends to be "heated" discussions of all different kinds. I also noticed that it seems to be impossible for people to give their point of view with out getting verbally abused.(Or for that matter to do the abusing them selves.)
It is very rare for a thread to stay nice and not get hijacked by someone with the inability to say what they have to say with out being rude about it. This mostly happens by making fun of the people and their ideas, or countries the people are from.

I love this board, and others, because people from all over the world can talk and share things about them selves and their countries that you just would not get otherwise. You could never get a fair shake on things abroad from the media. So talking with others from around the would gives a much better idea of other cultures.(DUH!)

SO this thread is for the sole purpose of being kind and talking about things that you like about other, people, cultures, countries, and so on. If you can't be nice than don't say it. I just know their hast to be some really good and nice people out there! Right?

So I will start with the first one:
I would like to visit both England and Germany as that's where my fathers family is from way back when.
I love the idea of having thousands of years of history instead of only hundreds.
There is just so much more history in Europe than North America.( Unless you are a native american.) There is a house somewhere close to the black forest that has been in my extended family for over 400 years. It belonged to the family of a woman who married into my family. The house was a gift to them, I believe, and had been in the other family for hundreds of years before that!
Being a student of cycles I tend to love history.(Funny it was my worst subject in school, and I hated it back then!)

******.

Oh, wait a sec, you're coming over. ********. Didn't mean it. :innocent:

Maybe this shows we're all contrarions at heart as most would rahter argue for hours over insignificant points than just agree and get on with life.

(put that in any context you want, trading, religion, war...)

Yes, I agree!

However I suspect part of the problem is the difficulty of expressing ideas & opinions in writing - the same words sometimes mean different things to different people.

"much more history in Europe than North America." - true but never mind the width, feel the quality. Just look at the power & influence of USA since its inception! (As a historian I find that fascinating - & it doesn't mean you have to be for/against anything).

I agree with your multi-national thoughts - the most incredible thing about this board (and the internet) is being able to have a dialogue with someone on the other side of the world whom I have never met. It does go to show that people are the same the whole world over - they just get manipulated.

You must be right about that. I thought it would be a simple idea to stick to and right off some wonderful people decided to make a joke out of it. That's sad, but oh well.
Funny cause we blame our leaders for the wars, but something tells me that it would be the same if most of us "normal" folks were in charge.

People will be people always and forever.

suprised they arnt giving away pounds at the airport

When I was little they did!
Well the truth is they were not pounds but US dollars. I got a free pen that had 2 thousand dollar bills shredded to pieces in side. I thought that was really cool.
Being the enterprising young man I was I promptly took the pen apart and tried to tape the money back together.
That day I learned an important lesson in life. It takes allot of work to make(or tape back together) money!

Just thought I would give a quick THANKS FOR ALL THE GOOD STUFF OVER THE YEARS to
Newtron Bomb!
Phil Newton is a GREAT and successful guy who is more than happy to give freely of his ideas and methods.

Thank's Phil! You rock!!

So word has it that WASP "just wants 5 stars".
It would be cool to see him get it but there is one very important question to ask.
What does the person win who's rep tips him over 50,000 points?
