So who's gonna win it?

Personally, I'm taking a bit of a break from footy this summer, but I might watch the final.

How many more people are going to say it could be spain's year?

Actually I just had another thought about Spain - we should check whether Spanish89 is backing them before laughing

he will probably place a £500 on them not winning it, winnings would be £600 if he is right, he will continue to do this with all the money he has on every major competition untill they finnally win something and blow his account.

He will justify the risk/reward by claiming its much more likely that they dont win then that they will:clap:

Yeah what WAS all that about.....

ermmm, maybe i support greece and was pleased when we beat them both in the group stage and in the final last time round.

What makes it even more enjoyable is because portugal get so much credit for been such a great team because of all their *stars* where as Greece just goes quietly about their business, currently 8th in the fifa rankings whilst england and portugal are 9th and 11th respectively.

Go Greece GO:clap:

Portugal. Though i couldn't really care less who wins. Haven't watched a game yet, and don't intend to!

well, after the 1st round of matches it seems there are only 4 teams in it,germany portugal, holland and spain.

I love you, Ich liebe dich, Zlatan Ibrahimovic!:cheesy:

Don't you mean Jeg Elsker Dig - or however that goes in Swedish. Or maybe his native, Volim te...

Aaaaaanyway.... just found out what Spanish89 would do re: Spain:

He would simultaneously take a bet for them to win and lose the tournament, then take a payout on the winning bet when they get knocked out, rolling over the next bet until the next tournament, in the hope that they will eventually win one :LOL:

Well it gets to the knockout stgaes and I can't help but get interested. Portugal would have been a decent call for winners but now they're gone, who else?
Much as I hate to admit it, Germany are hard to bet against. The Dutch are on fire but have they peaked too soon? There's always Italy and *gulp* Spain.
Personally I wouldn't bet against Germany, but Italy have probably got the best big-game players. The Dutch usually come up short in the big matches, and Spain are just ....well.... Spain:p

Well - spot on about the Dutch. Russia are a complete unknown to me.....
