Is this a male dominated forum?

"get the sharp elbows out" lol :D

watched about to there, and will watch rest after hours. thx for this "man" lol, obvious this is a great exchange and i'll get back when i made up my mind. :)

Good debate. Good presenter but he was more than a match.

"Equality of opportunity" is a great beacon in these sorts of issues.

It's obvious that in forex there're more men than women. Most probably it is caoused by the psychology of sexes. Men are more prone to risks than women.

If so, why?

I'm not sure how this video relates to my question, however it's fascinating and entertaining non-the-less....

It is probably dominated by men because the Finance industry is saturated with men as well.

Stocks and bonds are left brained interests and most women are generally right brained with thinking and feeling characteristics.........

I know a woman that works in banking......she is in a management position that handles marketing. But she has zero interest in the stock market. It's an odd combination for someone with a Business degree working in Banking.

Just an idea........

More men choose trading than women. I am sure the women who are not traders are doing the things that are important to them. They would probably say these things are more important than trading. Which they are - to them.

Mrs Watanabe are saying "less risk more profit" :smart:

"The average loss of Japanese clients is also far less than for EU clients (£97 over
the course of the year, rather than £488).
49% of Japanese FX clients made money in 2017, vs. only 30% of EU FX clients."

The Sisterhood might tell you that it's all been down to discrimination by the Brokers/right-wing masculine fascism/Margaret Thatcher/anything else that doesn't suit their agenda. Be careful what you say or think because the Thought Police will probably be coming for you – and do remember that in this new age of Puritanical witch hunting and intolerance of different views, that mere accusation will prove you guilty!

An odd thought has occurred to me: I don't have much interest in doing needlework and all that sort of thing – which appears to be dominated by the ladies. Am I being short-changed and have my rights been abused for years? We used to have some nominal lady contributors here – there was no way of telling if they really were – but I did think that some of their contributions were worthwhile and very welcome. For the retail female trader I don't see any barriers and of course there are some well-known professionals. The nice thing about trading is that whether you're any good or not is not a matter of opinion/sex/race/political views/gender – the results speak for themselves.

But of course, before going long or short I always consult her Ladyship: ;)

There's no doubt the trading environment is male dominated. But the point I'd make is that 'Forums' are also a male dominated environment. I don't think women are drawn to them. When I compare the types of posts from my male and female friends on Facebook, it's clear to me that we are a breed apart. The debate, argument, competition, banter, bravado and BS that are the mainstay of forums are truly male preserves.

males speaking for females...ironic ;)

like to hear from female traders here, what they think of their male counterparts :D

this guy is brilliant i agreed with everything he said about the "pay gap" its great to hear someone who can speak so intelligently about this subject. the interviewer was terrible, trying to put words in his mouth all the way through

Clearly the presenter will never get to the top. She was ill prepared for the interview, she didn't listen to the answers given and it seems that she didn't have the necessary intelligence to follow what was being said.

yeah she was rubbish! but apparently her disagreeableness has helped her, i can believe that

I wouldn't say that men prevail. They are just in a larger number in forex. there're 92% of men and only 8% of women. These 8% are quite successful in trade. Who knows, there may be more women in forex later.)
