Fortunately most people have no wish to harm others but........

Aim of the three attackers is abundantly clear

Plans to use bombs, such as at Manchester Arena, are rarer because plotters need to have the technical skills for such an appalling attack.
But attacking people with cars and knives is far easier and had long been encouraged by the so-called Islamic State group and other jihadists.
The aim of the three attackers last night is abundantly clear - not only did they want to kill, but they almost wanted to lose their own lives.
They would've known full well that attacking people in the street would draw armed police in their direction and the fake bomb belts they were wearing would, in their own warped minds, hasten their demise.

Is there some form of retribution that would deter these suicide attacks ? By a quick death the cowards escape punishment.

Perhaps their families and friends should be forced to pay compensation to the victims for not notifying the authorities.
" Am I my brother's keeper ? "

YES

What does terrorism have to do with crime and punishment?

I can only see escalation of the current situation. All of it the fault of utterly useless and contemptible wooley minded politicians and their stupid ideas on free movement.

Suicide makes one a loser , but the emotional benefit of killing others , in a unholy cause is justified by misinterpretation of holy verses .The suicide bomber feels worthless and his ego wants to contradict this belief , by doing something positive for holy verses.

Most suicide victims do it because they can no longer handle it emotionally , suicide is their way of avoiding any more pain and a quick exit without hurting others.

The punishment is meant to deter people from doing such crimes. They take the easy way out by suicide, Therefore they need to be caught and de-radicalised BEFORE they do the crime.

No, they need to be eradicated.

I'm guessing you didn't see Mays speech. She has declared war on them and the liberalism that allowed the situation to get out of hand.

I missed her speech. Is she going to bore them silly or something more vicious ?

An interesting read but doesn't put forward any NEW ideas.

Agreed. With most criminals, the likelihood of getting caught is the deterrent - most believe they will not be caught or else they wouldn't do it - but anyway that possibility only arises AFTER the crime. Would-be terrorists certainly cannot believe they are likely to be caught BEFORE they've committed their attack.

We are from another era. They expect to be caught and pray that they will be killed. Do get up to date. Common sense seems to have avoided some of the new young or vice versa. Tired of life at twenty something - pitiful.
But don't worry the soppy politicians will let them in faster than the cops can shoot them.

They make a mockery of the whole liberal experiment.
They will be bringing back public hangings any time soon.
The short or the long drop, I wonder ?

Hmmmm.

As I've posted on T2W recently, the French follow a policy we don't have - they put military patrols on the streets in order to actually create targets. I've never seen the patrols stop anyone for ID or for any reason whatsoever, they are just there to draw the nutters out into the open and engage them toe to toe. I think from memory the patrols have killed or apprehended all attackers they have engaged.

One hopes they didn't shoot too many running to catch their bus etc. What about that Brazilian bloke in London ?

So to recap...

- We have 9/11 and subsequently

- Bomb the sh1t out of Afghanistan to get to one Sauidi royal family member, killing many others in the process

- Bomb the sh1t out of Iraq, depose Saddam and revert back to selling oil in US$, killing many others in the process

- Destabilise Libya and bomb the sh1t out of them too and depose Gadaffi, killing many others in the process

- Destabilise the sh1t out of Syria, establish freedom fighters and ISIS, deposing Assad is ongoing in progress, killing many others in the process

- Trump makes deal with Saudies and Israel to start offensive against Iran whilst Sauidies use state of art techology to bomb the sh1t out of Yemen as a precursor for starting war on Shia's. Objective to turn Iran into another Afghanistan/Iraq/Libya/Syria. Killing many others in the process

- Egypt came close to becoming a hell hole too but stability has been restored by the army to a large extent.

So we have literally millions of refugees running away from war torn countries much of it our creation. Death of hundreds and thousands of innocent civilians. Deformed, hungry and destitute families. Refugees in the middle of nowhere trying to survive. A power vacuum for every Hamza, Osama and Baghdadi to do what ever they like, financed by international power players, fighting proxy wars.

Dropping that mother of all bombs was really useful along with bombing Syrian airbase that used aircraft to bomb anti-Syrian forces' stock piles of chemical weapons. Has any investigation come up regarding what happened. No need to wait or find out the truth. We've already bombed Syrian airfield and did 24hour lasting damage at a cost of millions of dollars. That was very clever.

Let's build more weapons and show N.Koreans who's boss. Coz we haven't got enough nutters attacking us we could do with a few more enemies launching Cyber attacks on our freedoms and way of life???

To blame and repeat those daft words about them not liking our way of life and freedoms is so much b0ll0cks once again. It really numbs the brain and sense as to WTF is really going on here.

They love us so much they all want to come and live with us and be free and safe but instead they are made out to be criminals.

MOREOVER, the very *******s we backed and protected in fighting people like Gadaffi and Assad are now turning against us and all that is somehow lost in the simple minds seeking revenge and justice on few pricks.

If you want justice bring back Gadaffi and Saddam and hand these terrorists into their hands to deal with. They'll know what to do and how to keep order and buy help and weapons from us. They were both our allies once upon a moon.

If we were running a business and we were losing good high paying clients who were turning into upset customers wanting to destroy our business we'd be asking where we went wrong right?

Where are Bush, Blair, Rumsfeld and Chaney now along with all their sidekicks and supporters.

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has yet to say anything about Monday’s heinous, nihilistic suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England. According to current reporting, the attack has been claimed by ISIS and was carried out by a 22-year-old man born in Manchester to Libyan refugees.

But when Blair does speak, we can be certain he won’t mention one key fact: Before the 2003 invasion of Iraq led by the U.S. and U.K., he was forcefully and repeatedly warned by Britain’s intelligence services that it would lead to exactly this type of terrorist attack — and he concealed these warnings from the British people, instead claiming the war would reduce the risk of terrorism.

Need to look deeper for the root causes of Crime and application of Punishment imo.
