World War 3

I am expecting Ronald to have located his fleet by the end of this week and be close to North Korea.
Surely NK leaves the US little choice but to attack it's nuclear and missile assets. There is a small chance some sane people in NK will topple the lunatic Kim family and defuse the crisis but it's probably wishful thinking.

Fake news or something else...

Difficult to believe anything these days!

I think that a lot depends on how many males we can see walking around with a copy of his haircut.

Who'd believe there is a dedicated team in the department of the White House Press Secretary to manage communications with the media.

The White House Press Secretary is a senior White House official whose primary responsibility is to act as spokesperson for the executive branch of the United States government administration, especially with regard to the President, senior executives, and policies.

The press secretary is responsible for collecting information about actions and events within the president's administration and issues the administration's reactions to developments around the world. The press secretary interacts with the media, and deals with the White House press corps on a daily basis, generally in a daily press briefing.

The press secretary serves by the appointment of and at the pleasure of the president; the office does not require the advice and consent of the U.S. Senate, though because of the frequent briefings given to the media, who in turn inform the public, the position is still a very prominent non-Cabinet post.

Raises many questions not just external but also re: internal communications for me.

Unless of course this was the plan to test the N.Korean and Chinese Officials for background chatter and intel on their communications.

Let's hope they are not simply incompetent but simply spreading disinformation for intel purposes. :whistling

War is the ultimate deflection from Trump's failings and inadequacies. NK has done absolutely nothing to us, but our behavior makes us appear to be "strong" among those who are easily impressed by such things. Hence, the attacks on Syria and Afghanistan, which accomplished zip.

And there Congress sits, diddling with itself.

I don't really think the USA can ignore or play patacake with North Korea any longer. He is serious about lobbing a nuclear bomb onto US territory. Personally I am a peaceable sort of person but this is naked provocation and should be slapped down hard. Trump's posturing has been called out. It is High Noon. Fight or cave in like a coward ? It is his choice.

And how exactly is he going to "lob" an ICBM onto US territory?

"Naked provocation" is the invasion of Poland by Germany in 1939. Posturing for the peeps is not sufficient justification for world war.

A cowboy mentality will not serve.

Do you think NATO has an obligation to the World to stop proliferation of cukes in those that haven't grown any yet??

Whether the US wants a war in Syria, or Afghanistan or, for that matter, any other non-nuclear power, is a matter for the US and its allies. I, personally, am against it.

However, a nuclear power working on being able to deliver rockets worldwide- such as N.Korea, makes me pause for thought. It will not be too long before they are able do it.

Why is China not the menace that it used to be? Because they have become world traders, something that the Russians did not learn when it was a communist state. N.Korea and we don't trust each other.. My hope is that China will be able to persuade them that the world is, now, much smaller than it used to be and that nuclear and chemical war could and, probably would,be the end of all of us.

More attention, too, has to be paid to Iran. Are they responsible enough not to supply atomic arms to the rebels? We, already, know how suicidal they can be.

Trump, or no, these matters must be settled - and quickly. If Japan and South Korea start producing their own nuclear arms in fear of the US dragging its feet--well, you can imagine how it will all end , eventually.

It is about time the world's leaders behaved responsibly. The posturing and rhetoric from Trump and Putin is bad enough but once North Korea gets the ability to reach the US mainland it's almost game over for all of us. The mad Kim must be stopped permanently and now is the time.
Surely the world's leaders can see the point of de-escalating the nuclear problem. I would suggest an agreement to reduce nuclear arsenals by 10% a year until there are none left.

It will all end that way anyway given that there are so few adults leading countries. Almost none, in fact.

As for delivering rockets, the more pressing concern has to do with delivering suitcases. What the public knows about these dangers is woefully shallow.

The US should have done that after WW2 but did not have the resolve or foresight.

NK's population starving to death and hardly a threat to anyone. So much is being played up and served on a dish to the US public it's laughable imo.

N.Korea is a Chinese problem and no idea why US banging drum playing the bully boy.

Let the Japanese build their army along with the Germans. Misguided policies. Why fight other peoples battles.

Is it any wonder why the Germans and Japanese have two of the biggest economies in the World? They don't have to waste stupid money on weapons of mass destruction. That's how the US and UK wanted it.

Cowboys just itching to display power. If they couldn't have their way in Vietnam what makes them think they learnt anything new to beat NK.

Way to defeat NK is via soft power and leveraging success in the South and negotiating with China.

War is just plain stupid and will cost the US dear in more ways than one. US is sh1t at winning wars. They only have ability to destroy. Not build.

China will drop NK like a hot potato if needed ........but US must allow them to do this Honourably

Same way that Russia would drop Syria if they were handled correctly by the US

so we are screwed ........the subtle art of US diplomacy is the shortest Book in History
