Well I am new to forex, forums, etc. I'm really excited to get started in forex. Looking at demo accounts now.

Also looking at other ways to invest. A friend of mine suggested crowdfunding as an option. Supposedly he's done pretty well with it. The idea's pretty new- you can help to fund new startups with the help of different sites that sell portions of equity in the companies. I know of a few sites already that seem interesting like kickstarter, crowdcube, seedrs, and uinvest. The last one seems to be the one I was most interested in. Their people seemed really ready to help, and I liked their approach to the whole crowdfunding thing.

The whole thing seems like a really good idea with possibilities... but has anyone else out there had any experience with this? Any suggestions?

I looked at a lot of those schemes last year. I think they are very interesting though if I recall correctly some are limited to certain types of projects, for example one of them only funded "creative" projects like films as so on. I'm actually in the process of revisiting the whole idea. Are you looking at them for funding or investing?

I had a look at a few of them a while back and may have posted some stuff here at T2W so search for Crowdfunding ..........

so basically its a Dragons Den for the masses with plenty of emphasis on Ethical and worthy causes........main issue for me is lack of return and worthless Equity

to each there own and if you want to save the world thats the place to do it .....

good hunting

Lucy MacFarland aka Lucy Milani aka Lyudmila Kovalyova Real Name: Людмила Ковалёва.

Would seem it's a scam. I'm confused with your choice of member name using the GUN substring given that is the company most closely associated with Lucy/Lyudmila.

There are a number of established crowdfunding setups operating in a bona fide manner with published formal accounts and solid references. Uinvest does not appear to be one of their number.

Yeah... I'm not out to save the world. Just looking for some more interesting ways to invest. Mostly do it for fun, with smaller sums of money I can afford to part with if something doesn't pan out.

Philanthropy isn't really my bag. At least I'm honest.

What does a crowdfunding platform have to do with guns? (although I would totally be on board for crowdfunding any interesting new rifle projects...). My nick came from a piece I was reading about the UN. Kind of a tongue-in-cheek jab at a mostly impotent "peacekeeping" force. A crowdsourced army, if you will... haha

Lyudmila... sounds Russian
