Any views on this awful attack very little information, God hopes not many have died?

Democracy versus.....

Assuming this is a terrorist attack, those fanatics and religious extremists who seek to undermine and take away our democratic freedoms and our way of life should understand that we will never be defeated....

now careful guys..

remember that all the tubthumping that the US did after 9/11 riled quite a lot of the world. we need to be careful not to go down the same route..

is it too late to dig up Winston Churchill?

do you belong to MI5 or MI6 to conclude it was "religious extremists" ?
( would these be Christian extremists, or are you thinking of turban-wearing ones ? )
fanatics - yes.
it could have been the IRA?

Several thousand die every year from liver disease - no action. ( too much duty to collect )
Several thousand die every year from lung cancer - no action. ( too much duty to collect )

the biggest beneficiary of all this will be govt.
ID cards, fewer civil liberties, more surveillance.
All this, for a few dead bodies.

Which company will be making these ID cards, and surveillance cameras ?
Some growth stocks for sure.

Wouldnt like to say but minimal human life at the moment - the initial attacks were after the rush hour about 10am. The fanatics would want to cause as many human casualties as possible.
FTSE being smashed again over 3% down - DOES IT REALLY MATTER!

This is what we get for bombing Iraq. More needless deaths.

Well the FTSE is down nearly 150 pts.

The S&P makets are set to open down 20pts+.

Expect lots of volatility.

The US markets could head higher after the open (or start to firm higher just before the open)
and then go down at then end of the day, thats what happened after the Madrid bombs.

to be fair guys, 10am in london is still slap bang in the middle of rush hour..

a lot of media companies dont "open their doors" till 10am anyway

the timing is irrelevant.. there are always tens of thousands of people using the tube at any given moment.. an attack even at 1am would still cause chaos...

Donald, thats my suspicion of whats gonna happen today too..

Strange Oil prices hits 6050 then tumbled $2 - what is going on!
Charles Clarke came out with his big Ears.... He didnt know anything!!!!
Bodies coming out now!!!! Oh no!

I used the word "assuming"

I did say "assuming" it is a terrorist attack...Al Q do specialise in attacking transport systems (New York, Madrid), so the odds are that it is an Al Q attack, given the timing which coincides with the G8 summit and the successful London bid.

The odds on the IRA etc. are considerably longer....

Assumptions yes, but a slightly obvious multiple attack on central London.
US mentality as long as it doesnt happen to them!

I wonder how soon we find "convincing evidence" that IRAN is implicated in these attacks ??

lets just be thankful that we weren,t involved in the attrosity and think of those that were.

I was feeling a bit sick at about 9 am this morning as i was stopped out 2 of my trades
Heard about the explosion on the radio later and it puts things in perspective.

Hope all you guys in london are ok

Well i come into work at 7 so for once i thank god for working early.

Yes a mark of respect for the true victims....

I am about 2 mins from King Cross an dneed to get home at some point...

Where you from PCJ?

It could be a hotel room?
Quite a strong statement from Tony Blair with the G8 leaders around him.

Its strange seeing Ambulances rushing around outside. I cant imagine all the millions of commuters being stuck in the tubes. They had to stop every train....

In regards to Iran being involved, well the scale of the attacks, it could of been any large nation funding this.

My wife and youngest child, who is 7yrs old, were in central London today on a school trip. Thankfully the school bus in which they were travelling turned around upon hearing the news. The bus was carrying about 30 kids around the same age. It makes one wonder doesn't it?

Just normal people going about their everyday lives. It really doesn't matter whom is responsible for the attacks. Whomever it is, they are without compassion for their fellow man, irregardless of ones colour, creed, age etc.

It does matter that WE show compassion for those hurt today and the families of those who have sadly lost their lifes. It does matter that WE hold onto our humanity, for I fear that those responsible have lost theirs.

Silly - Shocking more like!
London our capitol city has been attacked - even if it is not on the scale of 9/11. Our way of life has been changed in a way you cannot even imagine. Next time you ride the tube or next time you get on any public transport you will definatley think about this day!
Smiley thank god your family are safe - but when it happens on your door step it brings us all down to earth....

"NO.... It was definitely silly Islamic shenanigans.".....over generalisation don't you think ...I doubt if 99.9999999% of followers of the Islamic faith feel anything but abhorrence for this event ....we are simply talking about the .000000001% extremists who don't agree with any of the rest of us including the majority of the Islamic world...
