may i suggest you read the education of a speculator by niederhoffer. there is a chapter there all about scam artists, snake oil, hucksters and other con merchants. quite elaborate explanations also on how they ply their trade in attempt to hoodwink the gullible.

what i understand from this thread is that there was a seemingly friendly and helpful character, who also happened to tout 'a friends' business/tip giving service. am i right?

im not saying that every friendly helpful person is a huckster of course, but simply that we must keep our wits about us, and not be surprised by the unexpected 'fat tails'.as some call them

I don't know mate. I have known him for a fairly long time and he never tried to sell me anything, quite the contrary. <Remainder edited out...unproductive comments>

Take a look at the 1-2-3 thread and he gets the 1, 2 and 3 points wrong right off the bat. Then he goes onto tell us how his friend trades 1-2-3's on 5 min charts and out of 4000 trades had on %10 losing trades.

The guy is sooooooooooooo dodgy. Why would you want to look for him? That's like trying to find a waiter who spilt a tray of drinks all over you!

There are many poeople here in this forum who are genuine and Roberto was not one of them.
