I have the utmost respect for pboyles.

He has, in the past, diligently uncovered wrongdoings in the trading world.
He has been an excellent guardian of the interests of newbie traders.

However, his recent "another day, another scam" is coming across as just spamming the boards.
If anyone else posted the same phrase across several threads, he would be classed as a spammer.

His recent spate of posts have neither enlightened nor informed us, and more importantly, those newbies who actually need the information to make these choices.
There is the lack of usual analysis, research or information from such a long-standing and valued member.

pboyles, please return to your usual high standards, or just don't bother.
thanks

Or maybe, he's just recovering from the celebrations.

Yes bit busy these days, though I think I'm probably safe calling an offshore MT4 managed forex account that claims 100% a year a scam. Have you ever seen one that wasn't?

Anyhow if you want a quality scam just check out Aymen of the Arbitrage. Senen Pousa was previously involved with this prior to moving on to prophetmax.

There are some posts that simply dont require analyis.

Unlicenced investment funds soliciting for clients being a perfectly good example. Its illegal, and a site such as t2w should not be providing a platform for illegal activities, let alone allowing a thread to develop. If an unlicenced investment opportunity solicits, the thread should be closed, all contact details removed, and boilerplate text inserted informing members why the thread was closed, pointing out that solicitation is not permitted, and providing links to timsk's vendor warning document.

The other issue of that will probably earn me yet another ban is that there's not much insentive to post extensive reseach if there's a likelihood of that reseach material being deleted due to threats of legal action by unscupulous vendors.

Can't agree.

Hi the hare,
I think your idea has merit and you make your point well. However, the counter argument is that it might serve the membership better (i.e. protect more vulnerable newbies) by leaving the thread in place so that it shows up on Google searches etc. and the views of more experienced members can be read. I think it's 50 : 50 as to which of the two approaches achieves the desired objective the best?

Sorry, that was a a hastily written post - hope it makes sense!
Tim.

That makes perfect sense, IF more experienced members take the time to explain the problems. The key point really is that the contact details of these miscreants who are abusing the forum need to be removed ASAP.

This morning for example a rather mischevious vendor was posting on practically every thread they could find. Obviously its rather a burden for a member to post a comprehensive response on each and every thread in those kinds of cases.

The classification of that sort of behaviour should be cut and dried, and without any debate. If a new member posts single sentance responses with a link to his website on hundreds of 3 year old threads, within a few minutes, then he's probably a spammer. Even a kind hearted old soul like barjon shouldnt be giving them the benefit of the doubt

I made this point weeks ago after some threads were removed.
Agree 100%

Peter

Funny how at the very same time you post this making a point about keeping threads up there's a large well known thread getting hacked up by t2w.

Try modding in a landscape where everyone, and I mean everyone has a different opinion on how and when and to whom it should be done.

Yall can't even agree on this thread.
Behead CV for whingeing about his glorious Scimitar of Truth which knows the devil’s words and cuts them from the sight of Allah is one mighty stroke.
