This movie has just come out, has anyone seen it yet? I am thinking of going to see it this afternoon, has trading involved.

Is there much technical analysis in it?
No, dude just looks intently at a handful of FX crosses in a prop shop, then proceeds to make about a 1,000,000% return on initial. It does mention leverage and other trading associated shiznit.

Unfortunately my dealer said he didn't have NZT, so I got some crack instead and I blew up my bucket shop account.

'RAY!

watched it this morning , quite cool film ........... was there not some drug students take to help with exam's ? anyone tried it ?

Haha :D
I thought it was a rather good movie though..

 I don't know about the trading platform, but the metro platform wasn't.

I was reading the book (excellent, BTW) and I left it in sight on a bench in the gym and a friend gave it one look and said " Don't see the film!", so I haven't. I saw a trailer on You Tube about the metro fight, with all those diagrams going on inside his brain and

Guess what? There was no metro fight in the book! So, I took his word for it and passed.

Does anyone know if the trading platform used in the movie is real? and if so what is it?

Chris

Cetainly looks like FXCM:
Top image is from the movie, second is just an FXCM screencap.

They probably used FXCM to build them a little platform that looked a little bit snazzier, maybe.Like, I think the charts in the film look a bit different for example.... who knows....

Yeah I see what you mean. Wish the platform was real though. The charts in the film look great.

You're right that it certainly looks like the FXCM platform, but it is not. We (FXCM) had the same questions come up after the movie trailer appeared during the superbowl :) . I believe it is a Reuters platform that they used for the movie.
