Hedge fund to trade Zulutrade.com signals?

Here is an idea to take the http://www.zulutrade.com signals. Setup a forex hedge fund using Zulutrade! The reason is you are forced into one mini-contract minimum trade size which is a huge risk exposure. Setup a hedge fund and then select say by democratic vote the top 20 signal providers, pool all the money and then trade all their signals at the same time with this collective pool of money that many investors can invest in.

We could use an Python and Excel script to analyze all the trades in real-time running simulation models.

What do you think?

Did you manage to succeed with your hedging with zulu?

I am really interesting to see results
nice idea btw!

I would not want to be an investor in that fund. I would expect my hedge fund to have their own black boxes and not one that any schmuck could buy off the street

There other feeds you could use. If you are averaging other peoples trades get a feed from a broker?
maybe something like this
Forex Order Book | OANDA fxTrade

With the Zulutrade idea, you are still averaging out the trades of their systems. If they are not profitable in the long run, neither will you be.

Probably better to make your own system that is profitable. i am sure you can make a better system then the ones on Zulutrade.

Arbus you have a point. Thought what about if you cannot make better systems, can you still win enough of those on zulutrade? :|

Hi Robert, if you are smart enough to write the code to hedge the zulutrade orders, surely you are smart enough to write code to hedge currencies or commodities?
You should be able to make more money with that then copying other peoples trades.

Metatrader coding is not that hard to learn.

Thank you for the confidence in me :)

I wish I could, but I do not possess the time to do this. Plus psychologically, I doubt I will be able to sleep at night ...I know I can make more money with manual trading, but regardless I am pretty ok with what I get with my zulutrade account. (y) for more you need to invest more time and effort and I am not really up to that right now.

Sleep.. Who needs sleep :)

Mind if I ask what sort of returns you can get from Zulutrade? what sort of drawdown? Are they automated systems or manual trading?

i have looked at these sites such as zulu and rent a signal. I thought they looked pretty risky?

By risky I mean they were low return and a high chance of losing..

Risk to me is knowing the odds of winning vs losing.

The demo of zulutrade looks very good. They have a huge selection of signal providers , of course not all of them are good , but they are many tools that helps you find the right ones.

Arbus, I am getting somewhat of 20% return on a 3000 usd investment.
I try to choose signals with the smallest dd and the highest ranking within the system; also DD can be limited with a nice stop/loss in the setting of the provider, this way when he goes down, I do not go down much with him.The signals I follow are a mix of human traders and EAs trading - I do not follow more than 7 signals since my capital is not much. I dunno about rent a signal, checked it out long time ago but was dispirited from the lack of demo and all the hypothetical results that were all over the site...but for zulu i can tell you with certainty that it is not risky, (well unless one wants to get overexposed-then you are risky with every system you enter) and the demo's final results are as real as the reality :whistling arbus are you trading manually or not trading at all? what's ur story?

Hi Robert, It's been a while.
How are your zulu trades going?

That one you posted looks like it is doing ok. Small DD. He must know something we dont :)

To answer your earlier post. I develop and trade using EA's. I set my risk based on the worst DD I expect (based on forward testing usually). So my max DD I would like to see is usually 10%. As for returns I expect above 10% per month. But I dont really worry about the returns that much. They look after themselves. It is the DD I try to control.

hello there arbus, i see good for you ;) wish you many happy pips in your way ;)
my account is great, thank you for asking, still up and kicking, had some drawbacks of course (who doesnt have) but overall results are satisfying (y)

I like the concept being described above..........I dont have much time to trade my own systems these days but would possibly look at allocating some $$'s to a few select ZuluTraders that to me are decent and consistent traders.....or train up a few in my own style

I would need to interview the people concerned and then set up the controls accordingly regardign allcoation of funds

zulu trader needs to become much more sophistiocated to allow this type of DreamTeam approach I think ?....or is it possible now ?

either way this could be the future of trading and getting superstar returns from the best traders ...we just need a little more regs around the Provider and make it worthwhile for the decent and consistent traders to appear

wish I had the time to sit down for a few hours each day ...but I dont

Interesting conversation but i dont quite get it , what do you mean by combining hedge fund with zulutrade? Is it like adding your live account balance to other live accounts and then just connect all that pool of money to traders? And the profits would be a percentage of the money that you have allocated ? And how about the losses?

Started to use Zulutrade as signal provider, so far need to sort out how it works with live executions (some brokers don't allow orders to be placed "too close" to the market, so trying to just manually enter/exit positions now), but looks like a convenient way to manage other people money while not charging them directly and not being dependent on a particular broker.

The idea of combining several signal providers to create sort of a hedge fund for yourself sounds good indeed, by the way. AFAIK, Zulutrade allows to allocate certain % of funds to different providers.

i seriously want to know who you are trying to copy from zulutrade. most traders that i know from there aren't that good tbh
