Okay, so not exactly exotic but where can I find reliable charts for...

EUR / SEK

and

USD / NOK

I have tried metatrader (metaquotes/MIG/Alpari) but no joy...

Anyone any ideas?

Got an email from CMC today mate saying they were branching out into 40more FX pairs... don't think you like CMC though do you ? Can't find the charts yet though so maybe it's after this weekend...

Cheers Priceman, never used CMC, no opinion on them at all. It wasn't the broker, I just wanted an independant chart source and also prefer metatrader when I can get it.

I'm not sure till tomorrow how reliable this will be but at the moment it seems to have every major indicie, stock and FX cross you can imagine, live and free!!!

bizzarre - this can't be right...

so, with my excitement diminished after finding such a wonderous provider, does anyone regularly trade these crosses. This platform has pairs for nearly every country and some I've never heard of (and I've been around :cheesy: ) and the movements of the SEK and NOK make cable look as exciting as scapling vodafone! Granted the spread is wider but still...

If I download the moneyrain.org MT-4, will I lose my existing Expert Advisors and Templates?

Is the only difference that they use different data-feeds? or can I get the NOK from the MT-4 "official" website. (always wary about running .exe files from alternate sites!!)

As far as I am aware Trendie, when I downloaded it last night it made zero difference to my exisiting metatrader. I think, despite the fact that its still metatrader, they want their platform to be seperate for business purposes so it shouldn't affect it.

I had MIG/Alpari/metaquotes servers and they didn't have the crosses but this one has ALL of them!

EDIT: mine loaded as a completely new platform.

NOK and SEK seems to respect S/R much better than cable too.

NOK and SEK are available through OandA with around 20pip spreads and from independant charting provider prorealtime.com.

Which provider do you mean?
I'm afraid these crosses are not suitable for scalping due to two main reasons: spread and slippage. Remeber, there's very low liquidity for these...

I was referring to chart provider (see link at top of page (2nd post I think)) and I was using scalping vodafone as an anecdote for the cables lacklustre movements since its recent drop. I would never attempt to scalp NOK, SEK, cable or even vodafone  .

Fantastic find wasp! cheers!
I cannot seem to find GOLD charts??
Also which scandinavian pairs are on your radar?

Scroll right down through the FX crosses and at the bottom you have gold, silver and platinum! There is also 'PALL' at the bottom too if anyone knows what that is....?

Watching a couple of NOK and SEK variations but USD/NOK seems the easiest and biggest at the moment. Busy weekend ahead!

That's going to be Palladium.

Since moving away from the majors and searching out the more exotic minors I am finding them much easier to trade than cable and euro.

Anyone here regulary trade the scandi's or others (ZAR or MXN or PSO)? Would be interested to hear on any prefernces here and how you go about them?

I've currently a shortlist of most Scandi's vs EUR and USD and also enjoying the virtues of ZAR and NZD at the moment. Just using price and S/R off 4 hour TF's mostly....

Any other traders about who like the exotics?

Exotic birds, yes. Currencies, no. :cheesy:

Ahh but when you can close out an exotic trade with 1200 pips in less than 24 hours, it helps to fill that jacuzzi with Cristal champers for those exotic birds!
