As far as I know the interbank qutes you refer to is what you would receive from vendors such as esignal , CQG, etc. Those are the combined averages of all the forex houses. Refco is one of the main players so if you go to their site as suggested you will get their quotes. Try one of the other forex brokers of which there are many and compare. If anyone disagrees with my understanding of how the basics of forex works please comment. Iam also interested as to why you require such data. I take it you are aware you could open an account with refco and trade directly from the esignal platform. I don't hold a refco account but I do trade with Deal4free for spreadbetting and I also trade with ADM for futures.

Reuben - as far as I know, while Esignal etc have decent feeds, they certainly aren't taken from ALL forex houses as you suggested. Merely a representative sample of larger houses happy to contribute to their data feed.

In terms of how good your data should be, I think the main thing is to understand exactly where your chosen data comes from, and how it's derived. imho this is far more important than the actual choice of data itself.

O.K maybe I have been misled so I will speak to ESIGNAL tomorrow, (Iam a client). I will also speak to the forex dept of ADM, one of the largest trade houses in the world (which Iam also a client) I will then report back to this thread.

best source of accurate historical FX data is www.olsendata.com but it is quite expensive

also good but more affordable is www.tickplusdata.com

I would be very careful about any free data that comes from unspecified sources.
If they can't tell you how the data gets from the originating bank or banks to the data they send you then don't use it.

I have spoken to Esignal as promised. They have over 200 individual forex house supplying bid/offer quotes and as soon as any one of them changes their quote a change is recorded on the esignal screen. It is not possible to filter out any of the individual quotes leaving the charts slightly inaccurate. Refco are obviously one of the 200+
