Re: Overnight Trading

Well that didn't do too well for me. Stopped out at -30. After entering the trade I was just over 20 pips in profit, should have grabbed it while I could. Overall, I think this system could work but one may to lower their profit expectations. Might start to look at setting TPs around the 25 Mark. You still in Roger?

I went down -50 but as I had to work this morning I didn't have a chance to try and recover. Haven't heard how Zcar has fared this week. It would be interesting to hear how his trades have gone.

There seem to be some reversals to the trend overnight so tonight I think I will make paper trades and see how they have fared in the morning.

Closed both positions in the morning. Closed EC for +5 and EU -12. So down -7 for the night

Has Nick (zcar) disappeared since posting this topic?

How many candles are you guys counting back from 9pm?

Are you using 30m TF on all of the pairs?

Do you just use the MA's as your indicator to place the trade?

Just trying to crystalise the methodology / rules a little here!

Re: Overnight Trading

Hi,

Here is what i do... It's the same as specified by zcar..

1. Open the 30 min charts for the following pairs at 9.00pm (EU, AU, AE, EC)
2. Look at the candles from 6.30pm onwards to see if there is a trend, i use the following indicators: MMI, MA40, MA60. If one of the indicators disagrees then no trade for me. If all 3 indicators agree i move to step 3.
3. I then double check the trend direction using SAR and MACD indicators. I am usually a little flexible here, e.g. if the trend since 6.30pm has been down but has just started to turn into the direction of step2 then i would normally place the trade. If the trends are clearly in the opposite direction then no trade.
4. I use 35TP and 40SL
5. If the trades are still running the next day at about 6.15am then i close them off.

I don't trade every night due to other personal committments but do place a trade whenever i am around. I've only recently started trading this system since last week. I don't keep records but can say that i seem to have a reasonable amount of success, its difficult to say on how it will pan out in the long run. Until yesterday i was up about 80 odd pips but took a hit of -40 pips on one of the AUD pairs yesterday. Giving me a grand total win of approx. 40 pips in just over a week.

zcar started this thread Hi Guys,

Sorry not been on for ages, had 3 weeks in France and the internet connection didnt work! Arggghhhhh. So now I have a lot of reading to catch up on, lots of emails and lots of messages. I will also have to gather the info for the last 3 weeks I missed which is a bummer as I was plotting this live up til this point.

For those who have asked questions or sent messages I will answer them as soon as I can but the priority is to gather the data for me at present.

Also need to understand whats happened to the morning trading as that was pants just before I left so I mammoth read of the Daily thread required too!

Will be in touch.

Nick
