Tracking SLM Entry Delay

Hi

There are lots of people reporting delayed entry on SLM here, scattered across a few threads.

The SLM reply that it is the EA doing this seems a bit of a stretch from what I have read on a general Google search but it might be related to automated trading as a group I guess.

I'm suspicious that it seems to be a charting timeframe that does not refresh after what looks like a 3:32am server reboot by SLM. This connection fail and reconnect happens every night as far as I can see.

So here is what I am have in my journal, Live account, about 18 seconds delay today and the exact same on Friday past.

2011.05.16 06:15:18 'XXXXX': request in process
2011.05.16 06:15:18 'XXXXX': request was accepted by server
2011.05.16 06:15:18 'XXXXX': instant order sell ....
2011.05.16 06:15:13 Expert stdlib GBPUSDSB,M15: loaded successfully
2011.05.16 06:15:13 'XXXXX': cannot login [No connection]
2011.05.16 03:32:44 'XXXXX': DataCenter connecting failed [6]
2011.05.16 03:32:42 'XXXXX': login
2011.05.16 03:32:25 'XXXXX': connect failed [No connection]

Anyone else?

Where does SLM journal get these times? The reason I ask is my Journal mentions login problems @ 6:29:52 with the order accpeted @ 6:29:54 , 2 seconds later.

But for sure this should have happened @ 6.30am SLM server time! ? And for sure nothing happened until the 6.15am candle closed becasue I was watching this.

Mine went in bang on the button today. I'm runnign V8 and I open MT 4 about 6.15am (ie don't leave the EA running o/night). If someone can explain how to see the journal entry I'll check and post if it's helpful.

AlexM started this thread Just click on the [Journal] tab at the lower left side of your MT4 window.
It should be to the right of where you click to see your account balance and open trade balance.

I have only noticed a delay since I have been leaving my PC on overnight...but I can't remember if I had looked specifically for this before.

That might make sense though if it has something to do with the 15min chart being initialised again after SLM appear to reboot their server every night at 3:32am. I have tested this from three seperate computers/installations and two independant internet connections and the 3:32am disconnect/reconnect is there on all of them, allong with the delay when the EA tries to start trading.

I'll try to be up in time to have a look in the morning tomorrow before it all kicks off. It may be that we need some sort of a pre order action to wake the platform up properly and initialise the chart.

I will reset main account 6.20am and leave 2nd account to see if this makes a difference.

AlexM started this thread Other than the rocking -30 how did the delay do today?

I had 11seconds, better that any previous days I must say.

I have re-added myfxbook ftp publisher to the account and did not get the authentication error that has been there @ trade open for the last while. Not certain it made a difference but hey no error & less delay = a little better.

My delay was 1 second today and it made no difference to an account that had been open all night and one that I closed down and reopened @ 6.22 am.

Both did the same thing and threw up the journal errors.
