I have heard and seen of them but not used them. However, if this is another SB that uses FX with the MT4 than this should be a sure option... esp next year (being optimistic) when we will be on more that £100 per pip.

Its worth a try .... i am about to go live on SML... but willing to try out FXOpen and give feedback to all. (has SLM playing up?!... been away from all this for a week... and not been monitoring MT4) .

One pc was late and 1.9 pips worse entry (AI V7) , the other was fine and bang on! (AI v4). One pc had log on error @ 6.30 one didn't.

Next week I am going to revert AI v7 pc back to AI v4 to see if it helps. Just a long shot.

FROM POST #28

In the second month I and 16 others (that I know of) started getting slow execution of orders. "Typically 68 seconds late", this lasted 8 days before I left them but I believe it is still an ongoing problem. Again at key trading times, this delay was unacceptable. Also inexcusable considering I was using a very reputable VPS just around the corner from SLM! After many calls during the first problem day I was left in no doubt that I was in a 'them and us' relationship with SLM. I have kept a series of emails from Paul at SLM that were frankly rude and at no point entertained the idea that SLM could possibly be at fault. This despite the fact that many of us were using the same EA at the same time with other brokers without difficulty?

AlexM started this thread 27/05 - 21Seconds late on one MT4 2 Seconds on the other ... both on vps

I have tried the AI v4 and v7 with no noticeable improvement.

I was suspicious of the new build of MT4 as it aparently introduced some authentication issues with some other EAs but there have been reports of the same delay from older versions so that seems cleared.

Spin has confirmed that the EA uses SLM server time and not PC time to place the trade so the PC time update should not influence it.

Anyway I'm on holiday out in the sticks at the moment so even if I wanted to the internet is so slow I'm not able to do anything about this lot.

If we can confirm that the delayed entry has a negative effect on returns over time I'll happily pay taxes instead of putting up with this!

I was talking to a fellow trader at the ETX Seminar on Wednesday night about SLM.

He's also had a few bad experiences with SLM and does some of his trading on Alpari, even if it means taking the tax hit.

He reckons Alpari is streets ahead of SLM in terms of order execution and reliability.

Personally I'm planning to use the tax advantage of spreadbetting to build my pot and then switch to a top flight broker like Dukoscopy.

LOL I don't think any broker would ever feel sorry for a losing trader!

They're more likely to just laugh.

In fact that's what some of them do!

I'm inclined to agree on that one goldfinger.

They probably have some policy in place to change their dealer settings to "kill" once they have paid out £x to any group of traders. I'm pretty certain they can group us by seeing the trades made by the ea.

I never buy this, they can mess with the entry delay maybe but they have to track the market to within a few pips of their competitors otherwise we would all leave for sure.

However they seem to be back on track this week for EA entries and the few entries that have been delayed recently most trades had no chance of winning anyway.

Slm are well aware of our 6.30 entry as a group, paul hare has mepntioned this in emails to me. I do doubt that they are deliberately stalling entries tho. Mostly ok this week, odd 6.31 open, as today.
