What sports are you guys (and gals) into?

My first love is rugby (league and union), I haven't played league for the last 2 seasons (it's played in the summer down south) as 2 summers ago I was watching the Lions tour and this summer I had my knee-cap ripped off in the final game of the union season, i'm hoping to be back playing before the end of the year. I was going to play AFL this summer instead of league though as rugby league is just a brutal game and brutal on the body.

Also love watching (in no particular order) footie, NFL, AFL, gaelic, hurling, MMA and wrestling.
I probably watch NFL the most, mainly cos my missus is asleep before me on a sunday night and it's the only sport on.
Rugby is my first love too...but my team is the Springboks...sorry! I grew up in South Africa, and went to a rugby-mad school in the same year as Percy Montgomery (I'm 36 btw). I haven't played any rugby since leaving school, but I'm an avid supporter and watch as many live games as possible. Had a great time at RWC 07 in France, and just booked tickets for NZ 2011. Took a bit of a gamble tho, only bought tickets for the quarters and the semi's, just hope we make it that far! Go Bokke!

My other passions are snowboarding, wakeboarding, motor sport, tennis, golf and anything organised by Red Bull!

Matt.

The wife is South African and also mad on the Springboks. I am forever activating and deactivating sky sports for her to watch them play matches.

Looks like Rugby is also a common theme on the forum. I'm a fan on the mighty (okay we've had a couple of bad seasons) Llanelli Scarlets through don't get to see too many games as I've been living in London for years. My playing days are behind me though - I now enjoying taking my children down to Cardiff for Welsh internationals instead.

I work for a big bank in the City and annoyingly since buying NT my work hours have changed so I'm normally on the tube when all the action is happening but this will change any week now.

Interesting to see a couple of you mention that you live in Aylesbury - I used to do some work up there in the Blue Leany building!

I learned rugby at school then played club rugby at -
Pulborough W Sussex
Scunthorpe (Humberside then)
Barton upon Humber (Humberside)
Sleaford Lincolnshire (from first year of the club)

'Retired' from regular weekly games when I was 42 and had to work in Belarus after the wall came down.

Rugby has been my only real sport. But to keep fit in the summer at one time I rowed for the Ancholme Rowing Club in Brigg, Lincs. Yet every time it rained the woossies looked for the nearest bridge to hide under until the sun came out.

Have owned canal narrowboats since 1980 and now on third boat - wife is skipper, fat boy does the locks.

Can't afford to retire and still travel overseas on mission when contracts come up. Now on mission proposals for Afghanistan and a duty roster for Haiti.

Guaranteed, bring on the cup.
Good to see some rugby fans here. Support Bath, but sometimes ask myself why after last weeks hammering from Gloucester. Utter s***e! Hey ho.

Will unfortunately miss the opening game this evening as my girlfriend's roped me into going for dinner with her mental Spanish friend and partner.....rubbish!
Think Bath are playing Sunday, so may go and watch it at the Rec.
