Hi, I am quite new to trading, and I have a question that could be too laughable to get an answer: I noticed that some brokers, like Capital Spreads, do not welcome American customers. Why? Do they hate yanks?

For TAX reasons etc.....is the reason UK SB firms cannot take US customers.
Nothing to do with racism.
Read the terms on some of the SB sites for more info

HAHA yes, most people hate yanks but dont really want to say it....

its nothing to do with tax, its because gambling is illigal in the US (apart from some places) and spread betting is gambling

coz most of them are arrogant buffoons...:LOL::LOL:

(and the bucket-shop brokers as well!)

The same as all the fuss about the poker websites a few years ago.

You can have a gun in america but not a bet....hmmmm

Unfortunately the way things are going the answer to that from the typical government is to ban guns.

Both weapons and gambling should be freely avaliable to all. This is so obvious that anyone who disagrees is brainwashed.

There's some muppets in the US which call themselves as the NRA and their slogan is

"Guns don't kill people... people kill people"

but another muppet came up with a rather classy retort "yeah... guns dont kill people.. but if you give a gun to a monkey, even it can kill people!"

Nice!!

I say let them have guns.... and kill each other.... if that makes them happy.

Long live NRA!!

why should everyone be allowed to have guns..? whats the point..funny how strict the UK is on guns compared to the US..ever had a gander at the murder rate in the US threw fire arms..?

Ever had a look at violent crime rates in the UK? Ever looked in the murder rates in say Svalbrad where guns are compulsory or Switzerland where everyone has one?

But the statement on being "allowed" one absolutely disgusts me, it really does. When did I ever agree to be under the command of some scum in whitehall? Who are they to "allow" me things?

Wake up!

wake up to what? you clearly have never seen the damage guns can do. the only places guns should be is armed forces and police. what gives you the right to carry fire arms? unlike america it is not writtin into the constitution..

Who are they to "allow" me things? perhaps we should all be entitled to carry nuclear weapons and stock pile chemical weapons to?

yes the rate of violent crimes is actuallt alot higher in the uk than the us suprisingly enough..why? becuase here we like to give people a good kicking..in the us they just shoot each other.

and btw i have seen the effect of guns, 13yrs ago one of those people who were "allowed" guns walked into my primary school and shot 16 children and their teacher then fired at the classroom i was in.

I don't have to be given rights. I have them from birth. The fact is it's just wankers taking them away by force.

Making policy just to prevent the occasional nutter like Hamilton is stupid not just because it is disproportionate but more importantly it DOESN'T WORK.

There will always be spree killings I'm afraid the trick is to avoid over reacting with useless reactionary laws.

And as it happens I don't have a problem with private ownership of most NBC weapons... I assure you anyone who wants them for nefarious purposes that could possibly acquire them legally could acquire them illegally as well.

why is it your right by birth to posses firearms...? what a rediculas statement.

the only thing you have the RIGHT to from birth is what is set out in the universal declaration of human rights. i dont see anything about carrying guns do you?

"Making policy just to prevent the occasional nutter like Hamilton is stupid not just because it is disproportionate but more importantly it DOESN'T WORK." when was the last time someone walked into a primary school with a couple of pistols and blew everyone away..? oh yeh its in america that happens.

if people wernt allowed firearms it would never have happend. sure he could have gone in with a machetter or chainsaw but i doubt the cost of life would have been as bad.

unfortunatly i have little respect for you now AN from your views on this matter

ok your just being pedantic..if you think its your god given right to carry firearms your a bit delusional. why is it your right? your not telling me why. why do you want/need a gun? handguns/machine guns etc have no purpose what so ever except for killing. shotguns/rifles? if your a farmer/hunter etc then sure thats different tho as that has a purpose. being allowed to keep/carry semi auto and auto weapons just for the sake of it because it makes you feel like a big man is rediculas.

The only reason I responded when you said you had been in Dunblane is because a belief of mine is that one has to be able to look the worst victims of ones chosen ideology in the eye (as it were) and stick by it. Otherwise two things will happen: your ideas will become unacceptable and your opponents will win in terms of legislation.

On second thoughts that probably isn't justified on a minor discussion on a web forum and for your sake I won't be adding any more to this thread.
