Hi,

I would like to gather some suggestions regarding broker conditions during news announcements.

I am using a news breakout strategy and I'm looking for a broker that keeps spreads low during news, and also rarely has slippage.

By low spreads I mean, that they don't increase more than 5x the regular spread for any pair.

I'm not sure I'm allowed to mention the broker I have used so far, but although it has been decent I would like to try some other out, as it may be better.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you

some to try

News trading seems like an interesting strategy…
Of course you need to weigh the overall quality of the brokerage?

Maybe consider these brokerages for News Trading?

1 - Dukascopy
2 - Alpari
3 - ATC Brokers
4 - MB TRading
5 - Interactive Brokers (if you have 50k +)

Hope this helps!

It seems that you are looking for a broker that makes the markets but pays you like an STP broker. Unfortunately spreads widen in news times and slippage is guaranteed, its just the nature of the market

the solutions is find STP/ECN brokers that accept news trade ,because not of all brokers allow it,
FXprimus, Tickmill, and FirewoodFX only few of brokers i have tried that allow news trade

Was there much slippage or spread widening with the brokers you mentioned above?

FXPrimus : 1-2 pips slipage when news ( i tried with ECN account)
Tickmill : normal spread widening with small slipage ( wideing up to 3-5 pips
Firewood : no slipage, but spread widening can happen.

you looking for a broker with fixed spreads and no slipage that allow news trade, and from my experience this kind of broker are market maker

I tried both FX Primus ECN and Tickmill (when they were called Armada) and both had big slippage. I have not tried Firewood.

The spreads are not defined by the broker during news but by the market, when you trade with stp broker at least

Some brokers ensure they won't be hit by positions from their clients opened in time of news releases so they widen the spreads. To duck this limitations I use fixed spread account from HF to cope only with slippage in news time trading.

whatever your broker to trading news, never use insta
because they will not allow it is trader profit more than 10% when news announced.
but they allow its trader to loss all of their money .
better find broker that allow news trading,
some of big name in retail forex brokers allow it is trader to trading news, s ,never have problems with them

i never heared about these two brokers

Slippage is a part of the markets and trading forex, as far as I understand its the way the market prices move, they can jump in a millisecond so the price you want to fill at is skipped and filled at the next market price. naturally the higher the volatility the higher likely that price jumps will happen. This causes news trading that relies on no slippage to be useless.

Don't forget about volume of a trade, the more it is the harder is to find counterparty for your order, so more slippage is expected. ;) Keeping that fact in mind you can avoid slippages at ease :) I use Нotforex, FXCM and Global Prime to split volume between them and trades go easier.

Hi Gerry,

I can't speak for other brokers, but statistics show that FXCM clients experience positive slippage more frequently than negative slippage overall.

That's because FXCM offers tools like "Market Range", "Range Entry" and "Maximum Deviation" that help you to minimize your negative slippage while still receiving the full benefits of any positive slippage that's available.

Our Trading Station platform also has order options like "Fill or Kill", and "Immediate or Cancelled" which can be helpful with larger order sizes.

I have used the following:
1. FXPrimus fix spread. Used to work well then ...

2. Still using FXPro fix spread. Used to work well but encountering high slippage recently :(

3. Still using Cityindex. Occasional slippage and MT4 tend to freeze from time to time during news release :(

Still looking for a fix spread broker that would work well during news release for my trades.
Recommendations welcome and greatly appreciated

floating spread is better than fixed spread i agree with Plakaho

Depends on the broker that offer fixed spreads. I keep fixed spread account with Нotforex to enter only news trades and its much wiser to spend a bit more but get guarantee that you won't get 10 pips spread on NFP..

For news trading we the traders have to acquire most powerful analyzing fundamental knowledge which is very supportive to predict the market wit certainly during news.

if we will read news intime, it can help us in trading

Нotforex Fixed spread account of Global Prime I find this two best for news trading

News Trading is time when almost all brokers widens the spreads around 15-30 pips and some times even more and Chances is to get in to the trade when spike is almost finished so its better to put pending orders based on the Economic news.

I have noticed that market becomes crazy during the said news release time and some experienced trader manage to get good amount by scalping. However i guess scalping should not be applied by new traders as there may be high risk of loosing money during the said time.
