How does your company score over all the other forex brokers out there ?

Hello,

I've heard that your broker is the best. The real thing. Then I have heard horrible things that the Alpari platform is a 'scam' and is well known to hunt for stop losses and trade against their clients.

Could you tell me if Alpari has visibility to their clients trades and if they have staff or software that manipulate pricing on those trades.

Hi Mike,

Thank you for your post.

Alpari (UK) does not have staff or software manipulating trades. We are compensated based on a pip mark-up added to the best bid/ask price received from multiple liquidity providers which is then displayed on the platform. Consequently, our revenue is based on these pip mark-ups or commissions as a result of trading volume as opposed to traders losses.

Thanks Alex.

Can you tell me if scalping or high trading frequency is 'encouraged' or if there are any 'guards' in place to prevent scalping of high frequency trading?

I ask because almost every broker I questioned regarding this said they make money of the spread/and or commission. But then they place in stop guards or rules against scalping. One broker said they allowed unlimited accounts, but cut a customer off at 4 accounts.

One broker though did say that it was definitely encouraged and that's how they made their commission.

I have a deposit and want to open an account with someone, but I must admit I've been very frustrated with all the fake/paid reviews, websites, etc. I think this is a tough choice for anyone that is new and many of us fall victim to the false review sites and false reviewers.

I recently downloaded a new Alpari UK demo account.
But the data only goes back about 4 years.

How can I get more historical data?
(happens on ALL charts)

I seem to be OK with other mt4 data providers.

Another thing, why is the timestamp not GMT? it always seems to be about 2 hours out.

I appreciate the concerns that you have raised but please bear in mind that, although you can find historical data on our MT4 platform, we are not data providers. Consequently we will not be able to provide you further data other than those already available.

Another thing, why is the timestamp not GMT? it always seems to be about 2 hours out.

The platform is set to Eastern European time (EET, GMT+2) for perfectly sound reasons. Partially-complete Sunday candles are eliminated and the market close at 23:59:59 EET coincides nicely with what is conventionally considered the end of the day’s trading at 5pm NY time.

It is also worth noting that during British Summer Time (BST), however, platform time is Eastern European Summer Time (EEST, GMT+3).

Here is one for you .Why do we have to go through hoops of fire just to get an EA onto your platform.Ie. open the data folder, go to mql folder. Why can we not jusy copy like we used to it,s a nightmare. It,s the same on most 600 build meta4 platforms.why purchase something that has flaws is beyond me.

Hello Redtag12,

The MT4 platform is not an Alpari UK product.

The owners and providers of the MT4 platform are Metaquotes Software Corp. Any updates or changes that are made to the platform are dictated by Metaquotes, not Alpari UK.

Unfortunately, after a major upgrade in February 2014 Metaquotes made modifications to the newer releases of the MT4 platform.
Consequently the EA installation process was changed, as was some of the MQL4 coding language In comparison to older builds of the platform.

Thank you,
