i have go thru in choiceodds.com and i fine it the way i like it to stake my bet, i know its same as ladbrokes.com but in choiceodds, com i can chnage to whatver bet infuture.. for time bein maybe i'll go for choiceodds.com first and start taking profit with that profit thn i'll go with other company, the more the better, so if i have 3 account, each account profit 100sterling perday = to 300sterling perday, and thats already more thn my daily target.!

Hi Lqislouis,

Are you trading with ChoiceOdds? Do you find them to be a good betting site and what problems have you had with them?

At first they allow instant fills but move you to delayed fills if you show that you are profitable. This presents them with a 'free' options trade each time you try and submit an order - If the bet goes your way during the delay they reject it whilst accepting it (at the now stale price) if it goes their way.

Just my experiences.

Steve.

I have had similar experiences to stevespray.
I was filled promptly at the beginning but then had my orders got more and more delayed til they finally were constantly rejected. I called them and asked if there was a problem and they told me my account was frozen. i asked why and they said i was professional. i tried to remove my money + profit but they only let me take my stake out (profit of 500 quid or so was kept by them).

Regards.

omni thats balls.I can handle you say they slow play you but not keep the money you have made. For someone who has a good reputation and is a senior member that is very poor

i've had a sput with their director (who came across as very aggressive)sometime last year and i closed my account but i got all my money back, the irony is,the staff are polite and well mannered.

hiya julian,
it's true, i am afraid.

Ok Ill accept what you say, and apologise for language i used. What reason did they give for keeping the mon ey? Have you looked at Tradefair there marketmakers are independent, shame their spreads are a bit wider

Hi Julian,
They said i was a "professional"..... I didnt understand their point either but that's how they wanted to roll. They then emailed me a load of clauses from their terms and conditions backing up their rights......... It's cool. I have taken my trade flow elsewhere. Just dont want to see others go thru the same.

Hi Betchick,
Have PM'ed you as i dont want to get in any more trouble.

Re : Professional

It's pretty straight forward really. I'm not talking specifically about Choiceodds.com here but any number of the smaller (and not so small) firms which offer these highly volatile 'over the counter' options / binaries.
Their primary aim appears to be to draw in a stream of clients who will play their 'games' whilst paying around 6% - 7% in 'round trip' costs. Thus house edge is high enough it ensure that most clients will slow lose money. Maybe 9 out of 10 clients fall into this catagory. However, it's the '1 in 10' that can do the most damage. The clients who know what they're doing are the real danager.

Why is this you ask?

Well generally it's because these instruments (bets) are not the only instrument which is available to them. Experienced traders will see things which the average bod doesn't. This leads onto things like indirect arbitrage / hedging. These firms don't tend to like this kind of business. Effectively each time you trade you pinch a bit of value from them which ultimately costs them serious money over a lengthly period.
A dealer at one of the larger firms told me once that they more or less suspect any consistantly winning client of arbitrage - they believe that their 'house edge' is more or less impossible to beat and therefore anyone who appears to do that is suspected of 'cheating' in some way. I can see why they feel that way if their edge is over 6%.

If you appear to be beating their 'house edge' then they need to introduce 'other methods' to ensure that their edge is further increased. The 'delayed execution' method is an effective way of increasing your trading costs since they can retrospectively examine orders in their own time which the client has of course had to place in 'real time'. This is why suddenly orders may get rejected - the dealers simply use price movements which have occured since you entered the order to determine the outcome.
The ability of firms to reject orders is also seen as a way to prevent hedging / arbitrage activities - a client is less likely to attempt such a bet if there is a high likelihood of one side of the trade getting rejected.

Omni - If these bets are regarded in law as 'financial bets' then you can enforce them against the firm in question and recover your funds.

Great post steve.

And thanks for the encouragement to seek my profits but it was some time ago (early 2007 i think) and i dont wish to be in communication with them anymore! It's not good for the soul.

Best of luck all.

I am sorry to hear all this, just signed up with them and they looked good, owned by MF Global who are a reputable organisation.

So start trading with them and see how you get on.

When you start off make a note of how long trades take to execute. Also note how they are never refused. Be on the look out for sudden changes to you initial observations.

Steve.

The way forward has to be betfair. I use their 60 and 20 min bets and they cant hold back or bar me. So why look anywhere else. They now also have tradefair which is not there platform and the spreads arent the best but they will soon have their own interface when they have volume of customers. They did this with poker, they started with someone elses software and now they have gone their own way. they also have 5 min bets now which again the cannot be rejected unless there are insufficent funds

steve The 20% only applies after 60 winning weeks, thats fine by me, Ill just open another account. If im making good money why worry about 20% tax to them. Do you know more of how it will be implemented,do they take it of every win nimng bet or is it based over time?
