Combining trading FX with a normal full time job

Do people have suggestions on how a beginner can learn and practice trading FX whilst holding down a normal 9-5 job? I gather the market can be traded at all times of the day based on the pairs you choose, but is it realistic to sit down in front of the computer for 3 hours every night after work - think not.

What end-of-day strategies are there for FX, and how successful are these, I would be interested to hear people's experiences. I think I could managed an hour a day of analysis, setting up trades for the next day, etc., but not much more than that.

How do people make the transition to day trading? Obviously giving up the fulltime job takes a bit of time, faith and of course, making consistent profits.

Thanks all

Your asking a funny question - because if you did become successful at end of day trading then why give up the day job? I not sure 'end of day' is right for fX (no doubt someone will say different) maybe better with FTSE or something to start with.

Simple answer is get a demo account or two - look at the daily chart and see what happens. Day trading is a hugely different game altogether. If that's your ambition take a week off work throw some money into an account and see if you like it.

I would like to make the transition from day trading to end of day trading - be much easier!!

Good luck

End of day is fine with Forex if you know what you're doing. Just set the limit orders and stop order up and you're fine. You can make money that way. If you're doing that you might want to check out Trader_Dante's threads. They're not as good for intraday IMO, but end of day they work well.
