Hi guys!!

Can anyone offer any advice on the Eclipse Options Interview in London, I've got it today after work. Trainee trader, test and interview.....
Training in HK, work in London, sounds amazing

thanks for anything

I have this test next week, can you shed any light on the kind of problems I will be up against? Thanks.

I have an Eclipse test on Thursday in Amsterdam. Was yours also 1.5 hours? And what kind of questions, just plain arithmetic like 56*35 or 1.892-1.253 or also stuff like numerical reasoning, figures etc?
Thanks

mine was just ten mins, so not quite sure what you'll be doing....

but will be some multiplication, addition, subtraction etc like what you've stated

give yourself 5 seconds to answer them in practise

OK tnx! Did you have a lot of questions with fractions?
tnx

Hi ashleysasportas, how long did it eclipse to process your cv? I sent mine last month but still did not get any reply yet:confused:. Thanks a lot in advance!

if you're replying to the Amsterdam position, you may be late...

but rest assured all cvs get looked at so just be patient

good luck

Thanks ashleysasportas for the reply! Yes I applied for the trainee trader position in Amsterdam right before the deadline mentioned on the ads(3rd July). So I guess missed it. Good luck to you all:).

As said already. The test was 10 minutes long and there were 70 questions to answer (an optional extra 30 if you want to show off but these weren't compulsory). It was pretty basic (I managed to pass and my mental arithmetic isn't amazing), included some percentages, fractions, but mainly multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction, some with decimal points and some without. The questions really aren't hard but you'll be pushed for time, I managed about 67 of the 70.

In response to ZhongZheng, I applied about a month or so ago, maybe a little longer. If you haven't heard back yet I think you may be out of luck....

I got through the arithmetic test(this tuesday just gone) and had the interview, I dont suppose you've heard anything since?

in addition does anyone know the sort of intake were looking at?

Massively want this!

To sammers: thank you for the information! I think this time I was not lucky to have interview as you guys.

I just feel a bit of disappointed though, because after sending my cv there was no reply. After 10 days i sent email again just to ask about the progress. There was still no reply. It would be better if they could just reply me a few lines telling me they were processing or i was out...

Still the job sounds interesting. So hope you enjoy the position guys:)!

So how did you all go? Did anyone get a job? What was the interview process like? What was the job like?

Cheers

Well FB Stalking 101 indicates that ashleysasportas obviously got the job (y)

Whats it like working in HK, i hear rent is pretty expensive. Do they pay well enough?

hey guys. The job is great, really glad I got it. It's a position really suited to extremely analytical people who really enjoy and excel at gaming of some kind. Personally I'm a poker player amongst other card games, math degree etc.
although the test is important to find people with strong fast arithmetic under pressure it gives no indication as to whether you'll be a good trader, so don't put too much emphasis on it.
As for living in HK, it's great fun, with such small tax the wages go a long way.

Hey Ashley, gratz on getting the job, I am kinda interested at things about this job, I am actually currently working in hk. Just wondering, what is a monthly salary approx. as a trainee trader for Eclipse options, if u dun wanna disclose yrs, u can just give a rough estimate, like u know, 30k-40k or 40k-50k a yr, thanks so much for yr info!
cheers!

or actually I just wanna if they pay well comparing to equivalent positions and such, thanks so much for info guys!

I've got testing day coming up with Eclipse Options. Personally I haven't hear all that much about them, are they a legitimate shop and would you recommend them if your just coming out of uni? Or would an IB be a better career choice?

If anyone has experience regarding the interview, could they suggest some tips?
