Hello. My name is Maurice Tindall, late (very late) of Leicester UK and now in Adelaide, Australia.

I am new to this scene and would like to try my hand at spread trading the indices, FTSE, Aust200,and whatever else is available on IgIndex. Have done some reading up on this and related websites, finally gravitating to T2W which appears to have a head and shoulders top above the others.

My immediate concern is time zones. Adelaide is 10 and a half hours ahead of GMT.

If I were to start trading at say 8.30 am GMT (7.00 pm here) would the FTSE chart I see here be exactly the same one as would be seen by someone in the UK watching the same chart - and using the same broker of course?

I would have assumed so but I have been told that this is not, or may not, be the case. It appears that it would depend on the kind of chart - 5min, 10min, 1hour etc.

I ask this because I am attracted to candlestick charts using mainly pin bars on 1 5min chart and I wouldn't want to base a trade on a pin bar that was only visible on my site.

I hope I have made myself reasonably clear and my appreciation and thanks for any help.

Maurice

Hi Maurice, I bet it's a bit warmer where you are right now. Went down to about -8 degrees here in the midlands last night.

Anyway about your query. If you are using the same website as someone over here in the UK for your charts, I can't see a reason why the market data would be any different. Maybe I'm missing something here that some other members of the forum could comment on. Anyway, good luck with it and any other information you may need will probably be on this site if you search, if not, just ask as there are many good people on the forum.

A safe bet Tenapenny. It was that sort of weather that drove my wife and me to these warmer shores. However I shall refrain from quoting figures that might make you drool.

And thanks for your reply. That conclusion is as I thought and seems obvious but I've seen hints which I can't now place that it might not be so. It's frustrating when one sees something briefly but passes it by and then can't find it again.
