I am having a bit of trouble understanding the jargon terms used here and on the market and cannot be the only one.

Could we start up a list and people can add to it?

I will start with two I have looked up.
Stop Loss - a price at which you set to sell to limit losses on a falling share price.
Limit order - a price at which you set to buy shares on a rising market.

Hi Pf,
If you click on 'Traderpedia' in the red header panel - you'll find all the jargon explained there.
Enjoy!
Tim.

Could someone explain what YM and ES mean ? I can't find the answer in Traderpedia or using Google.

Thanks. That leads me to the following entry in Traderpedia (E-Mini - Traderpedia) which indicates YM = Dow mini contracts. However it says NQ = Nasdaq but doesn't mention ES. Any other ideas ?

I think they are dow future (ultra mini) tickers.
Google: "ym trading meaning" & "es trading meaning" and you will get explanation.
