Does anyone know if there is any company/website out there that provide trading on spot indices? I come across HYmarkets.com, they seem to offer trading on spot indices. But i am skeptical on that, because on their website they claim that the trading hours for DJI is 01.00 till 21:00. However, the NYSE is only open from 09:30 till 16:00.
Am i missing/misunderstanding anything?

You cannot spot trade the indices, unless you're going to trade the actual underlying component stocks. You have to trade either the index futures, options on the index, or an ETF which tracks the index (like SPY for the S&P 500).

Spot indices themselves, as Rhody Trader says, aren't tradeable products. They're simply a calculation of the value of a basket of shares. If you want to get into trading indices, you have three options - futures, CFDs or ETFs. HYmarkets, which I have heard of, but of which I have no good impression, offer CFDs. The difficulty here is that CFDs are not the exact index price, but an approximation of them - usually based on the movement of a futures index. If you're in Malaysia, there are a number of regulated companies in Singapore offering the same - if not a better- product, such as IG markets, CMC Markets, Saxo Capital Markets and CityIndex Asia.

Another option would be for you to trade ETFs - basically a fund based on the components of an index. The Dow ETF is normally called Diamonds - ticker is DIA.
