How do you find stocks to trade?

Hello all,

I have been learning about trading for a while now and recently went live with some success. I have developed a swing trade play and back tested it. It seems to perform well and I want to mainly use it on equities. My question is how do all you experienced traders out there find stocks that are performing to your technical requirements, eg have gained/lost a certain % of there price over a set time period or are trading on lower volume, trending or any other specifications. Is there a site or software that scans a large number of equities to bring up a list of potential stocks that may work well with your system? Thanks in advance.

Tradestation, Esignal and Ninjatrader has scanners that scan the market for stocks that match your system :)

I've used Sharescope Gold when I traded stocks. Very good for datamining. You can download the demo if you google for their website.

amibroker.com - cheap and fairly easy to programme (or learn to).

Thank you all for your useful (and very fast!) replies. I am just about to invest in Esignal but had not noticed that feature, i will have to have a good look at it when I get my acc. I will check out the other suggestions as well. I am no programmer so hope it isn't to hard to setup the scans, otherwise I may well have a few more questions! Many thanks, happy trading.
