Where to begin.

OK so Im a nubie, I know very little about trading Forex, so where do I begin?

Is there an introductory guide I should read?

Is there a system I should use, and where can I find it?

Should I use spread betting or use a broker?

Is trading Forex really worth the time and effort?

What can I realistically expect to make $$$?

I wish I had read the posts on here before I JUST purchased Louise Woof's Early Bird system.

Im sure you have had these questions asked a thousand times, so appologies in advance.

Clive

If you haven't gone through the processes of learning about forex (and probably trading in general) don't even worry about all the rest of the questions - and return the system if you can. If you haven't even figured out what the market's all about, and haven't sorted out the way you are best off approaching it, you have no business concerning yourself with systems.

Dont quite follow your thinking really, and not a very helpfull reply.

Obviously I know something of Forex trading to have an interest in the first place.

Cheers!

You asked about a good introductory text. That suggests a lack of backs knowledge of the market. If not, then why that particular inquiry?

The point I was trying to make is that you need to answer a lot of questions before you start trying to figure out systems and peformance expectations. What's your timeframe? What's your risk tolerance? What kind of access do you have to data? Will you use technical analysis, fundamental analysis, or both? Etc.

Thats very funny!

Clice - you are already in conversation with the man who can help you! He must be practicing some kind of tough love!

Since he's too modest to say so himself I can tell you that Rhody Trader (i.e. John) Has written a very good introductory text about trading called The Essentials of Trading. That's a great place to start for a general understanding of how trading forex works.

)

:D I spotted that too Indie and it made me chuckle. However, I didn't say anything as John makes reference to his book in his signature and I was waiting to see if Clive (Clice?) noticed!

Now, whats that expression? Something about not being able to see the wood for the trees . . .
Tim.
