Thanks all for the response to a prior post I did. For my brokerage, I am deciding between signing up with Interactive Brokers (IB) or MB Trading and wanted to see if you had any exp with either in US markets trading equities only:

1. Which has better execution time for orders and which gets better prices for you (US markets only)
2. How much downtime does each have and how often is the system very slow even though it may not be down. I am with Scottrade and lately it goes down often or is very slow often.
3. Which system has a better order screen to easily allow one to submit rapid orders for multiple stocks very quickly.
4. Is it easier to write a program (or third party software) for IB or for MB Trading to have an interface to them that will automatically trigger orders.
4. Any other differences between the two that are worth noting or even a suggestion for a different brokerage company ?

Thanks in advance.

Take a look at www.elitetrader.com in the USA who have a broker rating list...MB does not score very well whereas IB has good reviews.

Hello dexgreen,
Most of the US share traders on this BB are in the UK and the last time I spoke to Ken W. he wouldn't take on UK traders. He seems to think the IRS W8-Ben is a problem. Of course it isn't but unless he has had a change of policy in the last couple of years you might not get much of a response on here.
Maybe elitetrader would be better?

Thank ... you guys are terrific. Checked out Elite Trader and got a lot of info. Will probably go with IB.
was thinking of going to ib myself, only drawback is tax as i understand they are futures brokers. thats why i went for f betting the same foremat but com added to spread and traded as spread betting. i only trade the indexes .
